Re: Yamamoto and Lee
Any idea why the overalls on that link don’t match up at all with the update on the actual game? For example that link says they put Yamamoto in the game as a 79 overall. Game has him at 84Full update: https://mlb24.theshow.com/roster_updates/1
Yuki Matsui also got added.
They also gave Spencer Strider a Curveball, so that's pretty awesome.

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
There are Diamond Dynasty ratings and normal game ratings. the 79 is the DD rating.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
Overalls in the he live rosters for Franchise are calculated differently than they are for Diamond Dynasty. For a few reasons.
#1, they're scaled differently because DD has to leave room for legends and such. So the highest rated live series player in DD is only a 94.
#2 is because individual ratings are capped at 99 in the live rosters, but a lot of them go up to 125 in DD (other than anything over 99 being capped at that number, however, individual ratings are the same across the two rosters).
#3 is because there are a couple ratings (HR/9 and Discipline) that don't do anything in actual gameplay, so they aren't factored into DD overalls, but they are factored into the overalls for the live series rosters, because they do matter when simming.
#4 the positional adjustments seem to be a little different between DD and the Live rosters.

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
Good sign they got him in the first update after he debuted. I’m guessing the Friday after Imanaga and Lee make their debut they will be added then I can start my franchise. I’m so ready.Comment

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
I've always thought differently. If you look at someone like Mets 2B Ronny Mauricio, even tho he's hardlocked where you can't edit age or height/weight, he still looks like he hasn't been scanned, but the Sony face artists did more work on him than just using the generic CAP builder alone. Another reason I say that, if your playing in game and you see his portrait on the huge CitiField scoreboard, its a generic ''fake'' portrait, not one like Lindor or Alonso, who both have ''real'' portraits on the scoreboard, like almost 99% of other Mets.Talk about things nobody cares.

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
The CAPs I downloaded of Yamamoto and Matsui before the roster update look better than the ones SDS put in the game, even though Yamamoto has a scan. I'm going to keep using the CAPs.Comment

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
I don't even think Sony's Yamamoto is a scan, I think that's a hard locked Sony artist rendering. There isn't a real reason to keep the Sony version since he doesn't have any stats yet. But there are plenty reasons to use a CAP instead, including a closer appearance depiction as well as with the Sony official version, Boog just calls him #18. I downloaded ShowTyme's version, he used Yamamoto as the last name audio and Boog calls him that. All I had to do was change his downloaded attribute ratings to the official ratings. It just kind of stinks for those who want the most accurate depiction of Yamamoto in Diamond Dynasty, they aren't going to get it.Talk about things nobody cares.

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
Created version doesn't get audio lines, quirks etc...I am pretty sure commentary team will mention Yamamoto and the WBC or something. Some players who have played previously but are not scanned yet should be getting one this year. Won't be everyone but some will get it.Youtube: https://youtube.com/@mlbnetworkleagu..._hz5M86fl-FbW4

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
Maybe they will add something later (not likely) but all I heard from Boog with the official Yamamoto was he only calls him #18, no other backstory tidbits.Created version doesn't get audio lines, quirks etc...I am pretty sure commentary team will mention Yamamoto and the WBC or something. EDIT - Sony didn't give their Yamamoto any quirks anyway.Last edited by Ghost Of The Year; 03-24-2024, 09:41 AM.Talk about things nobody cares.

Re: Yamamoto and Lee
Mauricio’s is a scan, but it’s from when he was really young. Even his height/weight hasn’t been updated yet so it’s not up-to-date for him. But others like Taj Bradley and Jordan Walker have the Sony worked on faces vs actual scans. Also Mauricio used to have a portrait on the scoreboard. Did they remove that this year?I've always thought differently. If you look at someone like Mets 2B Ronny Mauricio, even tho he's hardlocked where you can't edit age or height/weight, he still looks like he hasn't been scanned, but the Sony face artists did more work on him than just using the generic CAP builder alone.
