Re: Has it finally happened
It rarely disappoints me, and I spend hours and hours building my franchises and trying to win. I don't buy it for any other reason than every year it gives me entertainment.
There are things I wish were different in the game , but the good always outweighs the bad, for me. In my case, it's that simple. I'm a simple man I guess.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: Has it finally happened
For me, 22 was the first time I had a chance to utilize Create a Stadium.
Last year, the new scheduling where everyone plays everyone was enough to pull me in.
This year its the pitch clock, Tony Stone and Derek Jeter Storylines that are a part of pulling me in. I know the pitch clock is such a seemingly small thing but last year the in real life was such a breath of fresh air, it intrigues me stiil tho I know in a video game you dont need a pitch clock like real MLB needed. No matter how small, I have always found something each year that makes it unique from the year before.T-BONE.

Re: Has it finally happened
Updated rosters, ratings and player models (especially faces this year)
Updates to stadiums and uniforms
Having the actual 2024 schedule
Most modes get updated (as slight as the updates might be)
New presentation and commentary updates.Comment

Re: Has it finally happened
Cheap entertainment. (accumulated change in my cookie jar could pay for this)
It’s a great baseball sim.
New schedule.
Added presentation.
New faces/scans
Possible uniform updates
Probable additions to stadium creator
Gamers who create CAPS/logos getting better at it.
New roster
Stuff that will probably surprise meComment

I personally can't stick with the game anymore these days with the state of the CPU decision making when it's also paired with a franchise mode that I personally see as lacking in many many areas.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Has it finally happened
The only franchise more out there that has everything near 100% perfect is 2k. NHL is shockingly second in my opinion just because of the expansion and other options they have (contracts specifically).
Madden has improved because the community almost singlehandedly took them down for how bad it was, but there are still so many issues with it that can’t be overlooked. The goal for MLBTS should be to get close to NHL since I don’t think they can do what 2k has done without totally mailing it in for a year.Comment

Re: Has it finally happened
If they could just fix CPU management logic with lineup creation and bullpen usage at minimum, that alone would allow me to potentially agree with the bold part. And the gameplay would just about be solid enough to carry what I see as a weak franchise mode.

I play so many franchise games where they bring in a pitcher that's half stamina or less and they are instantly shelled. I hate it.
Contracts are also outdated. They "fixed" all the contracts for the MLB players, but the actual free agency period has players signing FAR below value. The amount of 85-89 overall positional players that you can get on massive discounts is rough. So much work to be done haha.Comment

I said I wasn't going to buy it this year, and then immediately pre-ordered it. Same as I do every year.Comment

Re: Has it finally happened
I've always been a bit of an anomaly since I like starting fresh with each new game. But I skipped 22 because of how invested I was in my 21 franchise. And if I had gotten invested in my 23 franchise, I'd probably skip 24.
If the game/mode hasn't really changed much, hard to arguing against staying with the version and franchise you know and love.
That being said, I'm still pretty excited about 24. Hoping to get invested enough in my franchise with it that I skip 25.Comment

Re: Has it finally happened
I saw that I was mentioned in the OP. I started a fantasy franchise with MLB 22 and I am in season three. Totally invested in it and without Y2Y saves, I have stuck with 22. I made a total custom league with 30 teams, uniforms, stadiums.....so for me to start over from scratch is probably a no.Comment
