I have seen a couple dugout celebrations but they were the same as in 23 where they just give each other fives and hugs and then look in the camera. No props or anything.
Simulation vs. Competitive wouldn’t affect any presentations for celebrations. Simulation has more to do with user ratings playing out. Competitive has more to do with user input. The difference if any is subtle.
Year 20 of playing MLB The Show!

I hit a HR with McCutchen in Pittsburgh and he had the sword in the dugout so that one is at least in there.

I was just about to shelve this game and await CFB 25 and I decided to try competitive mode.
I play on HOF hitting (timing) and Legend pitching (pinpoint) and got to the point where I was smashing HRs and winning most of my games, shutting teams down. I tried sliders, moving to Legend hitting, etc.. nothing felt right and it was becoming a chore to find something that felt fair and competitive.
After switching from simulation to competitive, I'm really struggling with the Cardinals pitching staff as pinpoint is harder to get those perfect gestures. The Rockies beat me 2 out of 3 and the Pirates have taken the first 2 out of a 3 game series.
Hitting also seems tougher as I'm not hitting near as many HRs.
So far so good, I'm actually excited to play my franchise again.

Why do these games do this to use settings/sliders wise? UGH LOL..

No proof, but I believe these games are only tested on “competitive” as the online community is the target. Everything else is a bonus they throw in and maybe it works, maybe it’s bogged down by legacy code.
I've been using Competitive on default HOF, Timing/Classic. For the most part, getting good games but Acuna and Olson are basically cheat codes for me. I'm hitting way too well with them.
On 23, Competitive seemed to make the game a touch harder than Simulation for me. But I'm tempted to try Simulation on 24 to see if it nerfs Acuna and Olson a bit.
Been thinking about going back to Simulation, but decided to try a little test. I normally play on HOF/Timing with all the visual stuff turned off. But I turned on the PCI to do a comparison. Not a huge difference, but it is smaller on Competitive. So I'm going to stick with that.
Only two games, so obviously a really small sample size, but so far Simulation is working better for me than Competitive.
The Cubs beat me 12-3 in my first game; worst loss of the season for me. I beat the Pirates 5-1 in the next game. Getting more, but weaker, contact so far - which is what I want. Olson continues to be a cheat code for me, homering in both games. Hopefully he's just on a hot streak. Overall I'm happy with how it's playing though. Going to stick with HOF/SIM to see how it goes.
As long as I've played this series, I've only ever used X for hitting. But I decided to try Analog Flick as well. Really liking it so far. Going to stick with it too. Though muscle memory has gotten me a few times, where I've pressed X and wondered why my guy didn't swing.
