Is The CPU still garbage on offense on Legend difficulty?

Got last years game and I couldn't get into Franchise cause the CPU was terrible on offense and I had like a 2.30 team ERA with the Rockies and I'm not even good. Had to switch back to 21 just for my enjoyment. I'm guessing not much has changed gameplay wise, so just for those who got the game and have played the CPU on Legend, do they still stink? Don't wanna waste 70 bucks for no reason.

Maybe it's just me, but I've been getting smacked on Legend difficulty in my franchise. Seemingly a lot more clutch hits for the CPU

I haven’t played that much, but so far it’s been much harder to strike out the CPU. I’m going to keep testing it out and see how it goes with some higher rated players since I’ve been using low 80s/high 70s pitchers. But so far so good from what I’ve seen.

4 games played on HOF, classic pitching, and the CPU has no issues offensively.

Preface this by saying play how you want ? But for me Directional/Classic Pitching are only way to go. Other Pitching mechanics are to accurate and its more user skill than ratings. That will help with difficulty.

Essentially since 21 the CPU and user offense to a lesser degree have been deprived. It’s been challenging at times. However since going completely clean screen on HOF classic pitching it’s been better-ish. I will say though I or other users shouldn’t have to do that to find it challenging. Is it better this year? I don’t know I won’t have mine until at least Tuesday. But I sure hope so.

Last year, it depended on your pitching input. With Classic, Legend gave a pretty solid challenge for me. With Pinpoint, not so much.

I tried it on everything and still was striking too many people out until I altered the sliders. This year just trying with pinpoint, it definitely seems harder, especially with the changes to pinpoint pitching on sinkers and curveballs.

I've only played 2 games, but with pinpoint on HOF the CPU has no problem scoring runs off me.

Nope, full games. I use pinpoint mostly, but I had used Meter and Classic before and found it was still easy.

The only thing that made it harder for me was adjusting the CPU Contact and Timing sliders to 10. CPU still didn’t punish me as much for my mistakes, but Ks were more realistic and they had a better chance at scoring runs.

Small sample size and I need to try out with more 80-85+ pitchers, but so far yes I’m finding it more difficult. I used to get 10+ Ks with starters with 75 overall rating last year on default sliders and I haven’t really come close to that yet.

I’m certainly seeing less strikeouts which is good, however I’m not giving up many runs or walking people using pinpoint. Anyone seeing decent results using default legend pinpoint ?
