MLB The Show 24 Player Lock Issue (PS5)

I played an exhibition game with Player Lock on and my chosen player only appeared in his first at-bat. Played another game with the same result--any suggestions on what I'm missing? Thanks for any help.

(never had this happen in '23 and I'm using the same settings, so I assume it's something I'm overlooking; when using Player Lock in the past, I hit, I'm on base on every pitch to a teammate, play all fielding opportunities, and have the sim screen when not batting or fielding, which is what I want).

Switched from Show Sim Screen to Skip to Next Appearance--now I can play all appearances but I can't see the Sim Screen in between my appearances. You could do both in '23--I gotta be missing something.

EDIT: looks as if someone had the same issue in '21:

Has anyone else experienced this or have a solution?

jd@os pause during the game and go to settings/gameplay/misc and adjust the player lock game flow and additional hitting and game watch options.

It seems to be working the same as last year including games that carryover the "full game watch" setting from game to game. Such a relief and still works in Franchise as it always should have.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion jada. I'm out of town now, but I did do that a day ago--I didn't change anything though, since the settings after pausing the game were the same as they were when I initially set it up.

To be clear, just like last year and before, I was trying to use Player Lock with a pro (not RTTS) and play all hitting, base running and fielding opportunities while having Show Sim Screen on--which seems to be the problem, because after my initial appearance, the game simulates to the end. IIRC, it might work correctly if you don't select Show Sim Screen.

There is a YouTube Short video showing someone else having the same problem.
