Re: 21 vs 23 vs 24?
20 and 21 are my favorites.. 22 was horrible. Not sure about 23 or 24. So I am with the OP on this one about The Show 21. Sticking with that and will probably get 24 once the games been fully updated with all patches towards the end of the baseball season.Last edited by 7Williams; 03-22-2024, 08:26 PM.Comment

Re: 21 vs 23 vs 24?
23 feels more smooth on the field than 24. There seems to be a hitch in 24s hitting which is hard to get over. 24 mechanics seems too heavy in a way…hard to describe. I feel as more animations get introduced to this series the less organic this game feels.Comment

Re: 21 vs 23 vs 24?
This is exactly how I feel. 24 feels like it’s on rails compared to 23. From my personal experience (300+ hours on 24), it feels like there’s about 5 timing windows in 24 on default HOF for the user. For context I play on directional hitting, so I really want my players rating to standout more than anything. Timing 1 and 2 is very early or very late and you always swing and miss or foul it off. Timing 3 and 4 is slightly early or slightly late which almost never results in a hit or hard hit ball. Timing 5, which seems massive compared to the other 4, seems like it’s always a no doubt home run.
There’s really not much in between from my experience with this game. Timing plays way too important of a role on if you make solid contact this year. Where on 23 I felt like there was a ton of different timing windows and ton more hit variety for myself. If I was late with a good hitter on a hittable pitch, I could still square it up last year. I could really sit back and go the other way last year and was rewarded. This year if you don’t pull the ball you’re not getting many hits, just my personal experience. Plus not every well timed meatball is a 450 ft home run on 23.Comment

This is a good summary tc. I felt that way as well while hitting with the catcher near camera. I switched to catcher far camera (directional hitting on HOF with default sliders) and its a completely different experience for me. Now I’m seeing greater hit variety and the timing windows are much more forgiving and much more realistic imo. I’m enjoying the game from an offensive standpoint.
Still trying to figure out how to make the CPU a bigger threat offensively but that’s a different story and one that I think I’ve made some progress on.Comment

Re: 21 vs 23 vs 24?
If you are playing franchise 23 has a revamped and improved amateur draft and most importantly better players in the draft.
Lack of y2y saves has me playing 23 from now until and unless y2y returns.
Other modes with all the gimmicks I know nothing about.≡Comment

Pop in 19 on PS5…this is baseball before they went all in on DD. Trying to like 24 but something is missing.Comment

Re: 21 vs 23 vs 24?
I'm on Xbox and bought 21 because I was so excited to get a baseball game finally. I'm also on Gamepass so got the benefit of having the game as part of the service for 22, 23, and now 24.
My point is 24 is so good that I am going to buy it outright to own when it gets a hefty discount late in the year.Comment

Not trolling, but why did you dislike 22 so much? I enjoyed it and as someone who likes to play as the Red Sox it was the last version that they had a good team.Comment
