Franchise Players, What’s the Silliest Reason You’ve Traded a Player?

2-3 years ago I traded Ian Happ simply because I got tired of the commentary saying “Pittsburgh area native Ian Happ” every. damn. game.

Also way back in the day I traded Ted Lilly simply because his windup was too long and it messed up my timing when I used to use meter pitching.

Nothing will beat why the Cubs traded Rafael Palmeiro and Dave Martinez in ‘88-‘89

I nearly released Harrison Bader because the game gave him the incorrect #, 4 instead of 44 and I already have a 4 on the roster so he was wearing David Wright's #5. I came to my senses and just benched him for the rest of the game and changed his number

I have definitely traded a pitcher because of their extremely slow windup more than once.

I almost always check out a player's batting stance/pitching windup in the player editor before trading for them. But there have been many times where when I actually use them in-game I don't like it, so I flip them for someone else.

And I've dealt players who started out with me because I don't like their stance/windup.

For players with portraits on their card, I've traded away players who are shown with a team other than the Braves for a player who is shown with the Braves.

I've done the trade away someone without a face scan for someone with a face scan.

I traded Drew Smyly in MLB 21 because I didn't like the RL Braves signing him in the first place.

I used to trade Eric Sosgard every time he was on a team I would use because I thought he looked like too much of a nerd lol. In fact I always trade players with Rec-specs in 2k because I don’t like the way it looks.

The weird thing is I don’t have a thing against people who wear glasses. My wife and several family members do. I guess I just subconsciously dont find them tough enough or something? Lol

Like geeze, you couldn’t find a good pair of contact lenses or something

As an Indians fan I just didn't like Jason Kipnis, even in his prime so I would trade him for peanuts just to get rid of him.

This is gold, I need more, moreeeee.

I'm not petty like y'all so I don't have any good ones of my own. Well, okay, I'm petty but it's usually like "I suck with this guy's swing, he's out of here."

I traded Kris Bryant off my rebuilding Rockies because as a Cubs fan, the way him and Scott Boras acted when the Cubs sent him down to AAA for two weeks to get another year on his contract. Knew right then he wasn't a lifer.

Watchin him suck in RL in Colorado is great.

Also I sent him to Anaheim for Anthony Rendon in my head devaluing KB even more. [emoji23]

I have not done it yet but the windup thing is definitely why I am considering trading Andrew Painter. Guy is like a top prospect for the Phillies and they gave him the long windup and it’s agonizing pitching with him. I am trying to resist the urge.

I’m about to dump Jeff McNeil because of his whiny antics. Always bellyaching after he makes an out and his tantrum after a totally legal slide by Hoskins yesterday pushed me over the edge

You didn't think Hoskins legit tried to do damage to that ankle?

If he thought he tried to injur him he should have decked him as soon as he stood up. They always do this, they get pushed around and act mad about it but never retaliate

I traded Max Muncy so I wouldn’t have to hear “That Funky Muncy” every game.
