Ticker is gone in franchise

My test sim franchise I’ve made it up to 2037…

I also have half the teams replaced with custom teams. I noticed last couple games I played out that there was no longer a franchise ticker along the bottom..

Is the ticker only on The Show theme or should it display on the Regional theme as well ?

Has anyone made it 20+ years in game and still had the ticker appear ?

Or used custom teams and still have it appear ?

Those are the only things I can think of if I’m trying to troubleshoot the issue.

I have everything turned to auto for each team so I can sim seasons faster, but yes I selected all 30 teams at start so I could rebrand them as I made new teams.

If using 30 team control, you have sim each game before playing your game for each day I order for the ticker to work.

Oh, interesting. I don’t feel I played a game any differently in 2037 than I did when I first played out games in early season. You’re saying maybe it’s just luck of the draw and the game I chose to play was first game of the day so there was nothing to report ?

It’s not even that it didn’t work, it just didn’t show up at all.


I thought the ticker was like a “as it happens”
Type thing.. but it only shows stuff from completed games ?

Yeah only works that way if you do 30 team control. Sim each game of the day and then play yours, and the ticker should show up. That's the only reason I can think of why the ticker would stop showing up

Yeah even though you sim all the games before you play, the ticker will be on and it will show the current scores in real time.

When I was testing sliders in my test franchise I wouldn’t have the ticker on either. Then the 2nd game it would be on and show my first game.

It is real time, and it isn't. As you probably know you're able to see the games in progress on the ticker during a player-controlled game, but to do that the engine sims all CPU-controlled games on the schedule before you start the on-field game. Then the ticker uses the in-game time of day to reflect what would have already been played out in the simmed games, and from that it's able to show that the games look like they're in progress.

As others said already, this illusion falls apart with multi-team control, as fewer/no games from the day will be simmed prior to starting your game. So there's less/no info to show on the ticker.

So, it's a fake real-time, but a pretty convincing one under normal circumstances. And in a single team franchise it might as well be real time unless you spoil yourself by backing out to the "today's games" schedule after the sim.

Edit: Also, In-game stadium scoreboards operate under the same principle - and have been doing so even before the ticker was introduced into the game.
