Bring back y2y saves and stop pandering to the simmers and ignoring those who play the game. Until then mlbts 23 will be my baseball game.
Pandering to the simmers? Like people that are into sim stats? Because MLBTS has been terrible at this for a very long time. Even the stat options suck this year. There are all these advanced sabermatrics yet you can't even get a simple R/L split in the player statistics screen. They even took away the team totals within the player stats screen. I haven't done a deep dive on the franchise stats because I guess I just don't care anymore. Unless SDS actually announces an overhaul of the sim engine I just assume it's trash.

      In your opinion....
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

        I concur.
I have played MLBTS religiously since 2010. I haven't yet felt the need to use the feature.

        Talking about things nobody cares.

He means people who don't play (insert random number) of games/innings in their franchise aren't real players like him.

Yeah, I know some guys are into that total control but once I start my franchise it's its own world. I try to make any trades I'm involved in realistic because it's not fun for me to screw the CPU over, but if the CPU teams make weird roster decisions or dumb trades between each other? That's their problem.

That's where I land these days as well. I use to heavily control my Franchise but I've since stopped. I find I have more investment when my league has a life of it's own. I still play 30 team control but that is so I can make sure top prospects are playing in the correct leagues and getting the best development path. I also do contract signings in the spring for all 30 teams in regards to team controlled years. I find it helps better control teams in offseason spending when they have their players signed rather than waiting for arb and renewals. I don't offer contracts to pending UFAs unless it's an special circumstance/generational talent. Unless it's a special circumstance I let the free agent market go wherever it goes.

I quite like how my leagues progress.

Maybe I'll give RTTS a shot, but I have a couple other games I haven't yet started.

I actually requested a refund and was denied because I had downloaded the game. Alas, I have learned my lesson. No more Show for me.
Thanks for this. Skipping out on this year as I am solely a franchise player and the game has been pretty stale in that area over the past couple of years. I barely touched 23

Is this where I engage old-man-yelling-at-the-clouds mode and lament the good old days of The Show when…
                • You could build the specific player that you wanted in RTTS by earning and then allocating skill points to a specific attribute…
                • As a franchise GM you had to set budgets for and enhance the business side of your team, i.e., marketing, travel, giveaway days, training facilities, stadium upgrades, etc.?

I’ve been playing The Show since the beginning, but stopped about 6 or 7 years ago because of family commitments and life in general. I might have played 2 or 3 games online ever. I know I am in the minority, and I know that every sports sim has shifted its focus to the online game in the past decade. But that stinks for people like me who watch their offline opportunities get ignored or stripped with every new season.

I'm in the same boat. I find I end up way more invested in my franchise world if i just let it play out.
