What’s so “dangerous” about this conversation? Thus far no one has said anything inappropriate.

I say leave it open, even tho I don't know what new could be said of Franco. But use one of Shohei's hundred other threads to discusss Ohtani. This thread steered so far off into the forest, it's like going into the MMA forum to talk about Taylor Swift when everybody knows you're supposed to use the NFL forum for Taylor talk.

Exactly. Too many people these days want things to be swept under the rug because a subject may be a bit “uncomfortable” for them. We as a society need to be able to discuss uncomfortable topics. It’s really the only way to understand them and learn from them. I subscribe to the athletic and they lock the comment thread on almost every single article about Wander’s situation. People are so worried about hearing something they don’t like these days.

The way I see it is we don’t know if Wander is guilty of what he’s accused of doing or not. But not allowing discussion because it makes people uncomfortable is counter productive. If anyone is inappropriate in this comment thread their comment can be deleted. Plain and simple. The worlds and ugly place. Bad things happen. People get hurt. Life is scary. Not talking about these things isn’t going to make them go away.

With that said, here’s my wander take. We won’t see him in the game this year. I don’t think we will ever see him in the league again to be quite honest.
