I MUST BE CRAZY?

I woke up this morning with an idea for franchise that I might want to try.

I'm considering picking a team and dumping the entire team to free agency. Every player. And then starting completely from scratch to build that team up. And I can't make any trades with other teams that first year either. I can only pick up free agents to replace the players I dumped.

Needless to say the first season would be awful but....what a challenge it would be. Hmmmm.....

I wouldn't consider that crazy at all. It's a pretty common thing people do that want to try and replicate an expansion franchise. They are all over Youtube if you wanted to check one out. I'd just search MLB The Show expansion team/franchise. I wouldn't want to play 162 games with that team, but if you sim a lot, it would be fun. Go for it.

I did see a youtube where a guy did his rebuild using only drafting and simming. I don't really want to do that. But what I'm thinking could be fun.

I'm mixing it up this year as well. Going to use the Cardinals as always, but doing a fantasy draft and the first 2 picks I have must be current Cardinals, 1 position player and 1 pitcher.

The CPU does a fantastic job in the fantasy draft I've noticed in some testing.

I want the league to be balanced at the start and take off from there.

Ive done fantasy draft franchises in the past and they're a blast. The cpu drafts well. That's another option for me.

I could to a fantasy draft with cleveland. I'm always looking for new challenges.

I’ve done similar. I would just sign all young players and be like an expansion team.

If you go through with this might I suggest using the Mets as your team. The scenario you describe sounds like their 1962 expansion team and you will have the right uniforms.

Use the Oakland A's they are basically a AAA team playing in the big leagues without all the hassle of redoing everything.

I tried this out with a few teams and I just wasn't feeling it. I might try again but for now back to my original Rockies franchise.

I tried this a few years ago but gave up on too quickly because I went overboard with the idea and signed only the lowest rated free agents.

I might give it one more try using the Guardians . I gotta keep JRam though....
