MLB The Show 24 Patch #4 Available Today - Patch Notes

I’m curious as to why anybody wants to call timeout while batting. If I want to pause playing I can just hit the back button and go to the screen with the line score, wind etc.

Is there a gameplay advantage such as disrupting the pitcher or something like that?

Pausing the game isn’t the same as a timeout. Pausing the game doesn’t reset the pitcher and hitter.

Calling timeout makes the pitcher have to step off the rubber and restart the process again.

It’s done to try to break momentum and gives the hitter a chance to regroup and refocus

I don’t use it often, but sometimes if I’m losing track of the pitchers arm slot or lose focus on the screen, I do it to regroup since it buys me a few extra seconds to get my vision straight.

No they temporarily suspended being able to call timeout as a batter so they can investigate and fix a bug that was causing a freeze in online games.

They didn’t do it to appease the online community and to **** on franchise players.

Anything else you care to exaggerate and fabricate in order to cry woe is me?

Color me absolutely shocked that CountryBoy rushes to SDS’ defense, as always. Aggressively disagreeing with any critique.

Yeah, I can still call time. I’m glad. But let’s not pretend franchise hasn’t suffered because of online. The bunt example is still true. Unless a guy has a rating over like an 80, you basically can never drop a bunt. Also I’m fairly certain the guys diving into third on obvious scoring plays, resulting in not scoring or being thrown out at home typically, is a result of some online complaint. Seems to happen regardless of me telling them to round immediately, base running aggressiveness rating, hit quality, etc. Still lose runs to that and have for a couple years now. And the hard lean into DD is why franchise has been neglected for years anyway. Which they’ve admitted, and defended by telling us how few people play franchise. So ultimately, I do blame the online portion of the game for majority of the problems with franchise. And I think that’s my right.

I definitely do. The text in quick manage mode and in gameplay on the Sow Theme is darker and much easier to read for me.

I have never experienced either of these issues. Up until now the highest version of the game I’ve played is 22. Are these things that started with 23?

I agree with your analysis in real life baseball, but I am not convinced SDS has programmed any break of momentum effect on the pitcher if you as hitter choose to call timeout. It a perfect world, this would be the result, but I don't know if they have taken it to that level. I'd expect the pitcher to lose a little accuracy or something along those lines occassionally.
