How Long Do You Give Prospects?

I'd love some feedback from those of that are Franchise or single season players.

I'm in year 4 of a franchise (still sticking with '20 because I got attached to the franchise). I lost my All Star SS to free agency in the offseason, but I had a prospect in who was putting up numbers in the minors last season and was on the Top 50 Prospect list.

After a good Spring, he looked ready for his chance, but as I'm getting to the end of April the guy is hitting .210 with little power.

I'd love some feedback. How long to you guys give your prospects to come around before you pull the plug, send them to the minors and go with another option?
I figured it might be a fun discussion.

    Have a great weekend.

Hard to say, what are his attributes? Based on hitting attributes alone I can usually use that, along with his minor league performance, to make the decision to get called up.

As far as performance in the majors, April is still pretty early, might just be a slow start or a slump, I would give it more time. If you start seeing ratings drop, or messages that he's struggling, I would definitely send him back to the minors before he gets an overall drop.

Also, you might not do this, but gamers have a tendency to try too hard with players they REALLY want to succeed, which can hurt that player's production. I know I've done that in the past.

Couple more weeks as the starter then maybe consider demoting him to more of a backup/utility role for a month or so after that. If it *still* isn’t happening for him at that point is when I’d send him back down.
      Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.
