Re: JWDixon's Sabermetric Lineup Optimizer
That’s more of an old school approach. Always wanting the 2nd guy to “move a runner”

Re: JWDixon's Sabermetric Lineup Optimizer
Yes but I mean if you put your best player in that position he didn't perform as well in the simulated games. Has that changed?Comment

Re: JWDixon's Sabermetric Lineup Optimizer
So you can only enter nine players, correct?
Is there some format where you can enter twelve players or something, and then it constructs a lineup for its "best nine"?
That being said, I'm not a fan of the new school approach teams have in, say, batting Kyle Schwarber as a leadoff hitter. Maybe I'm more of an NL no-DH mindset, but that has never been it for me. I'm still old-school in my lineup construction, but it's fun to play with! Thanks.Last edited by Blzer; 04-26-2024, 12:09 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I still hold some old school approach thoughts on certain things as well!
I thought about making it to where you could enter the top 12/13, but then I’d have to get into logic of positions each guy can play, energy levels, fielding ratings etc.
Kinda becomes a nightmare lol.

Ha...I do too. But you got to sim the other teams' games...lol.Comment

Re: JWDixon's Sabermetric Lineup Optimizer
Lol this is true. I don’t fool with other teams lineups because they seem to change so much regardless of what you do.
I’ve never noticed certain positions in lineup affecting stats besides RBI

Re: JWDixon's Sabermetric Lineup Optimizer
Hey, maybe a dumb question, but should I enter the players as their postion on the field or just in any order?
So, Pitcher/DH on 1, Catcher on 2, First Baseman on 3 and so on...
Or is it irrelevant in which order i put the guys in the sheetComment

Re: JWDixon's Sabermetric Lineup Optimizer
Any order is fine!

Re: JWDixon's Sabermetric Lineup Optimizer
My first game in my Reds franchise using these. Tyler Stephenson hits a grand slam no big deal. Sold! Also enjoyed setting up cpu lineup before the series. They were super challenging 1-9. 9 hole hitting was 2 for 3.
