Is there Enough of a Want for a College Baseball game from SDS?

Man, I gotta say, I was pining for MVP 06 and really got to looking for any hint of interest in SDS bringing us a college baseball game to go with The Show and I was just trying to bring forth a discussion about it here. Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere but man I'd love this so much. Anyone else?

I would absolutely love a college baseball game. A college game with The Show’s gameplay would for sure be a win.

A college game would be an immediate pre-order from me as well. Unfortunately, the real life counterpart doesn't draw nearly enough eyes.

It's less popular than college basketball, and there's not even any plans for a new game for that sport, either.

I would love a college baseball game but I don’t see that happening…however most of the components for a college baseball game are already there…with created uniforms/fictional rosters and the unbelievable work of some stadium creators all we really need is for them to add aluminum bats…I know it’s not perfect but if we had the option to change season length we could probably get the college season feel with what’s already in the game

College basketball games were cancelled due to low sales and that’s infinitely more popular than college baseball. Enjoy MVP on an emulator. There’s a mod being created by Reborn Sports (to which I’ve contributed) that will bring MVP 07 up to the modern day.

It's less popular than college basketball, and there's not even any plans for a new game for that sport, either.

There's not a lot of interest in college baseball apparently. I don't think the MVP games they released way back when did all that well.

Heck, I'd be down for a college baseball game on The Show's current model.

• Just 30 Teams: Give us the top programs and with the ability to rebrand, we can create our own colleges, if we choose so.
• Yes, Draft instead of Recruiting: Make our Signing Bonus Pool bigger and account for every player currently on the roster to mimic scholarship amounts.
• In-Season Free Agency = Walk-Ons: You can cut a walk-on, but anyone given a signing bonus cannot be released until they graduate, enter the draft, or transfer.
• Roster Size: I believe NCAA Baseball rosters are capped at 40. Dropping for 93 would cut down on the effort needed. No names either, just give us generic players for all I care.
• Equipment: Metal/Composite bats instead of wooden bats. The rest of the equipment stays the same.
• Playoffs: Keep it the same.
• Off-Season Free Agency = Transfer Portal: Exclusive Negotiation Period would be where you find out of a player is leaving early or transferring. You'd have the ability to persuade them to say with your negotiations for that 5-day period.
• Trades: No trades. Keep it simple.

Thanks for that info. It'd just be nice if we could just get a college baseball game and a college basketball game. I guess online play and microtransactions have made it to not be cost effective as there isn't near the money to be made by a franchise/dynasty based sports game as the money made by pro sports games.

I'm not opposed but there's not enough time in a day/year for me to add yet another sports game.I already don't get around to many non-sports games and have to keep my sports games on a schedule to get what I feel I need to get in.

College baseball should be a thousand times more popular than it is. What is coverage like in the states? Do they play highlights on Sport Centre? I'm in Canada and we get NOTHING. I have to watch the 15 minute recaps on Youtube if I want to see anything (or find a streaming site). And the College World Series is one of the best tournaments in sport and deserves more respect in the pantheon of sports coverage (up here, at least).

So, I can't see anyone investing in a college baseball game, despite it being warranted to receive a hell of a lot more coverage and fanfare.

It would be cool if SDS could add a Negro League and a College Franchise option to the game, along side the regular MLB option.

Trying to WATCH college baseball is so hard compared to college football or basketball. I have YouTube TV and I still don’t see hardly any games. You have to get ESPN+ to have a good amount of coverage, but if you want to watch SEC games you need to have SECN+ which you only get by being subscribed to SECN on a cable provider or YouTube TV, and then linking your provider to ESPN+ in order to be able to stream those games. And the SEC is probably the best baseball conference right now so that’s kind of a must if you wanna watch it. So many hoops and things to have to subscribe to just to watch games, and you don’t even get all of them. It’s like they intentionally make the sport so hard to watch (MLB too) but also keep telling us that the sport is dying, and needing to make changes to the game to keep it alive. Change isn’t all bad. But. Maybe make games easier to watch at all levels, and remove blackouts? Just a thought. But I’m no expert.

I’d be ecstatic to see SDS develop an NFL game. Madden is way overdue for some competition from 2k and other developers with a realistic NFL simulation

I wouldn't personally describe the 2-3 games they show a day on ESPN2 as a 'ton' of games. I think if there were a college baseball version of MLB TV, that would increase the popularity. Having an aggregation of games on one platform, rather than having to seek out multiple to see all the games one might want.
