    Classic pitching find.... for timing

So forgive me if this has been mentioned before but I found a "hack" for classic pitching and when to release the button. You know how every pitcher has a different wind up from the stretch and reg pitching so the timing of when you release the button is different for each pitcher. Well I found a way to tell when to release the button for each pitcher... Heres how. First select analog pitching and count how many seconds it take to get to the line at the bottom and when you get it perfect go back to classic and hold the button for the same amount of seconds. Once you change pitchers or go into the stretch you have to go back to anaolog and get the timing down again. It takes about 20 sec its worth it if you like classic pitching and are getting upset with the timing. I hope this made sense and if this has been mentiopned before sorry

Doesn't the controller vibrate when you're supposed to release it?

I did not know that I just tried it and it seemed like the vibration comes almost after the ball is released.

I can't remember. Vibration might be for velocity or something like that.

The vibration-point on classic is max-effort.

I tend to watch when the footplant occurs to place my timing-point.
          Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Guys...I've been using classic pitching for years. I am curious about whether timing matters. This year I decided to just tap the button and not worry about timing. I have seen no difference in outcomes. I still get my Ks and walks and no one is launching balls at any faster rate than when I used timing. Is there any info from SDS on whether timing really matters?

I really think the only difference is if you hold til the vibration. When I do that with a fastball, it’s usually a little faster and usually off target some. I’ll do that with two strikes to try and get a swing/miss.

Try the method I am using it really does make it better and each pitcher has a different release point

From my understanding over the years, you can tap a button or you can hold the button up until the ball gets thrown. The longer you hold the button the more velocity and more break with less control and you get tired faster.

WHAT!? You're supposed to hold he button until the pitcher releases on classic!?

Lol, I've just been tapping the button for which pitch and throwing. I'm trying this method out next game I play.

They really need better instructions for this game lol. I feel there is a bunch of little nuances that the game does not tell you

For better control you just tap the button. For more velocity and less control you hold the button down. I rarely hold the button.

Question - When using classic pitching, I've noticed when given feedback on the pitch, it always says "Very late release".

I just tried this method, and the feedback is always the same. Is this just a visual glitch, or is there infact, a timing mechanism to classic pitching?

Just a glitch. It doesn't mean anything.

I thought timing mattered since trying classic pitching. It doesn't (so why they show early vs. late in the feedback window, I haven't a clue), but it should. Regardless, "tap" seems to pitch a given pitch at lower velocity, but more accuracy (and break for off speed pitches) and "hold" gives higher velocity and less accuracy .... all tied into a given pitcher's consistency attribute I would think. I never use vibration--hate it. The thing I do like about that is that you can throw a "fast" change up with the pitcher looking as if he's throwing harder, fooling the batter.

I don't think there's any way they can work in "tap" AND timing. What they should do is work it like the old MVP meter (but no meter there); tap a button to select pitch, then press and hold for the speed of the pitch you want (with the possibility of overthrowing), then release for the timing of your accuracy, though still all tied to the pitcher's consistency/control factors.

Been using classic pitching since 20. Never knew there was a difference between tapping or holding. Testing in 24 now and still not seeing any difference in control or velocity. Maybe I just haven't used the right pitchers yet, but wondering if there really is a difference.
