Best way to make Quick Manage harder?
Since my dog always wants to play fetch when I'm playing MLB, I like to keep one hand free. So for my franchise, I've been taking my ABs one-handed, but then using Quick Manage for my pitching. Problem is, I'm mowing down the CPU too easily. My team is 22-6 because most games I only allow 1-2 runs and it's feeling like a cakewalk. I'm playing on legend, so which sliders should I increase to make the CPU more competitive for Quick Manage? Thanks in advance!Last edited by jeffy777; 07-10-2024, 03:21 AM.Tags: None -
Re: Best way to make Quick Manage harder?
Try lowering your Starting Pitcher stamina to 5 or lower. If you use the same stamina rating you use when you actually play the game, your pitcher will never get tired during Quick Manage.Comment

What Phillies said. Also raise manager hook to 10 as well so they pull the SP and you don't have a bunch of easy CGs.

Only SP Stamina , RP Stamina, and Hook have any impact on simulated games/moments. Nothing hitting wise matters.Twitch

Re: Best way to make Quick Manage harder?
I started Quick Managing innings I pitched because I just find pitching all the time boring and at times no challenge at all even on Legend + (Simulation).
I tried Classic Pitching and to me personally it looks terrible, balls missing the placement by feet etc and when it misses looks like lofty beach balls. Not very appealing to me. Which stinks, because I use auto base running and auto fielding. It's nice to just press a button and enjoy the game and not worry about full control at all times.
One thing you can try and I haven't yet, but since I switched to "Competitive" Game Style is Quick Manage like you usually do and see if you get better results. Playing games on competitive has produced (as of now) much better results it seems from the CPU at the plate while I'm pitching, while batting I don't notice much difference. Maybe try that out before going to Classic Pitching.Twitch

I use Quick Manage quite a bit and I'll be honest, I see a wide range of scores.

I did try competitive after the discussion in the patch thread, but when it came to hitting, I felt like I had to square up the zone perfectly to get solid contact. I like the feel of the simulation setting as it's a bit more generous with zone hitting, which suits me better as I'm not the greatest at zone hitting, but I still prefer it.
I feel you on classic pitching. I've dabbled with it over the years, and it's not my favorite. However it does seem to give me more realistic numbers than Quick Manage. The CPU won't hesitate to light me up on those floating hangers you mentioned, so they're actually a welcome sight at this point lol.
I'll definitely do some more experimenting with competitive. Really appreciate everyone's insights, so please let me know if you have any other ideas.Last edited by jeffy777; 07-10-2024, 04:59 PM.Comment

Re: Best way to make Quick Manage harder?
Jeffy, I think you should incorporate those fetches with Fido dictate how you choose to manage in Quick Manage. Figure out how to let your dog's fetching results give you your manager decision lol. Surely man's best friend can't manage as well as man, in MLBTS.T-BONE.

Sounds good to me, but I asked my dog and this was his reply lol 🐶Comment
