Just had a bit if strange idea while watching a game last night on MLB.tv, but I would love to see the “Baseball Zen” commercials used between innings. Anyone who subscribes to MLB.tv will know exactly what I’m talking about. For those who do not, “Baseball Zen” commercials were introduced about three years ago as filler commercials for MLB.tv. They are 15 or 30 second spots that range from simply watching a groundskeeper wetting down the infield prior to a game, to watching a game-winning home run in the bottom of the 9th, and pretty much everything else baseball related that you could think of. Obviously, something like this would have to be able to be skipped through and you wouldn’t want it to pop of every inning. Maybe just once or twice a game?
I was thinking that since in most cases we already connected to the internet when playing, so would it be possible to connect to MLB.tv for these commercials and each time a random one would pop up?
I don’t know, maybe it’s not technically possible, I just think it would add another layer of immersion to the game (i.e. really make it feel like you’re watching an authentic MLB broadcast).
