    The Show...That game...These moments!

I've been playing MLBTS since 2012. In fact, I bought a PS3 only for this game, since I had a need for baseball. Since then, never looked back, this is the go to game. I'll spent around 325 to 500 hours on a game and so far, it's not been different with 24 version, since I'm at 286.

In a world where mental health is now a thing, and at an age where people's opinion are less important than mine, I appreciate the moments like this morning.

After a rough week at work, running around for 5 days, making sure I get most things out of the way after work yesterday, saturday morning is a precious time between me, my DualShock and MLBTS.

Up early, making enough coffee, and cranking up that PS5 for few hours, enjoying the sounds of baseball, in a slow pace game (that's what I like the most about baseball, it's like playing chess on fast forward, but still at a pace where you have time to understand almost everything going on).

I don't know for you guys, while yeah, there's that game is frustrating sometimes, but most times, it's just good on mental health and feel like it's almost mandatory to have them.

It's like a made a ritual for that, and there's times I think that mental health is far gone, I'm just unconscious of it. Well, I'll keep living in denial mode because geez I enjoy these moments!

My good moments are striking out Bryce Harper or Acuna Jr, my bad moments are losing to Miami or Washington. But even the bad moments can be good for the soul, tho at first you might not realize it because the initial instinct is to see if you can fling that DualSense hard enough to stick into the telly screen. "Serenity Now!" helps too.

I have what I would consider, a great life. Fantastic family and friends circle, a good career that I like, playing in a band on the side, good health and a great attitude that I don't take for granted......

But for whatever reason, the Show is an escape from reality. It relaxes me, it makes me happy. It doesn't let me down. It takes me away for a couple hours a night.

      So I feel ya bro.

I hear yeah. It’s such a great escape. I enjoy keeping the team rosters as close as I can, creating players that aren’t there, love the randomness (don’t load my team up with all stars) and am just fascinated by the gameplay and the outcomes, whether it be a 5 game win streak, 5 game losing streak, a good thumping on either end, a close game where I hold my breath for a bases loaded save bottom 9. Currently 2.5 out, mid-August, frustrated with my bullpen. Yeah….always tomorrows game.

        So, playball?

I feel you! Since the controllers are too expensive nowadays, I always have some coasters to throw around in case of excessive baseball rage!

I feel the same. That game as the ability to make me think about a ton of things without noticing. It's just like running in background while escaping reality for a moment.

And in all fairness, having a balanced life can include gaming. I don't wait for people understanding it, I just do it. Like you, between work, family, friends, training, etc. those MLBTS games are just what the doctor order! ;-)

It's fun you say that because the way you enjoy the game is up to you and yourself alone. I was looking for perfection (rosters, stats, standings, etc.) and one day, I just started enjoying the game. It made the game much more enjoyable and not feeling like I had to glue the simulation with the reality (even the reality has trouble gluing to reality) ;-)

The fact that you run your franchise, making it fun and getting back to see what will happen is just what I meant in the OP!

Playball? Hell yeah, let's go! :-)

                Re: The Show...That game...These moments!

Absolutely agree! As a small business owner (who used to spend way too much time working at previous jobs), with a wife and toddler, life can get pretty stressful, but firing on the Show and disconnecting from the world is an absolute brain-saver.

When we first moved in together, and then got married, my wife would get a little wound up about me firing on the PS4, but when she realized that it was my calming mechanism, it became far less of an issue. I absolutely never play when my kid is around/awake (though I can't wait to introduce her to video games some day...), and I don't play when my wife has any other plans for us, but it's a huge stress reliever for me.

I love my family, I love my dogs, but I also love the small amount of "me" time that I get with this game...even though I'm still cranking out a franchise in '22

                Cheers fellas!

                  My favorite;

Dominant, unhittable pitching performances from Randy Johnson or Greg Maddux... only to have some slappy hit a no-doubter late in the game.

Takes me back to my controller chucking days.

.. but in all seriousness, it is an amazing game. Just wish we had something like 2ks MyEra to reflect the amazing history of the sport.

I've said this before, but I've been playing sports games since the electric football and Mattel days.

MLB The Show 24 is at the top of the chart for me, it's such an amazing game. I'm 163 games into my 2024 season and I still see new animations and have WOW moments.

Playing a playoff game feels so much different than a regular season game too, it makes me sweat and stress out.

I'm so happy it's available on the XSX and gamepass.

Right there with ya brotha. '24 is the best game I've ever played and seemed to have improved monthly since it's initial release.
