Also in my experience the generated quick count is 1-1 like 70% of the time. It has gotten to a point that I’m not even looking at the starting count anymore because it’s probably 1-1 anyway
What’s the deal with quick counts?

What’s the deal with quick counts?
Will they ever switch back to how it was? I believe they used to deduct 1 pitch to the pitch count every generated quick count..? Did they ever say why they changed that approach to where it is now where we get ridiculous high pitch counts early in the game?

I have to say, tho, I really enjoy the game more since not using it. Doesn’t really add that much more time.
We wanted it, got it, worked great then someone stepped in and messed it up. Hopefully it’s fixed in 25. -

Been that way since last year. I don’t know why they messed with a good thing.

Re: What’s the deal with quick counts?
I enjoy quick counts because it helps (IMO) balance out the check swing issue that I find in offline. I'm also a bit too aggressive, so it helps me get a bit deeper into counts, and around 20th in the league in walk rate, which would be virtually non-existent for me without it.
The fact that every count starts at least 1-1 is kinda "meh" IMO, and makes it virtually impossible for either starter to ever make it deep into a game.
The one thing that I'd worry about is that the game doesn't seem to adjust for first pitch on QC vs. without, so I'm not sure how I'd actually feel if someone tossed an accidental meatball 0-2, and I was still hitting weak contact on it.

Re: What’s the deal with quick counts?
Even All Star Baseball 2005 had a better QC system. You could set ANY count, hitter friendly, pitcher friendly or RANDOM. Random included ALL possible counts including 0-0.
The way THE Show has it, you can never have the possibility of a 1 pitch at bat.

I really wish at minimum they just bring it back to how it was pre MLB23. The old way worked fine.Comment
