Can only hope but since they did not respond to guys begging for this I doubt it. They specifically put the blue circle back in the game last year. And homerun cam toggle has been requested for years now. Not sure why they refuse to make these things optional...Comment

Countryboy do you know if they ever considered bringing the HR option back?Comment

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Ah Darn, but thanks for answering.
I do miss the old days on this board when the devs would answer some questions or take in constructive feedback or suggestionsComment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer and New Features
Ok, me again. I posted about this is the other gameplay trailer thread. But I can confirm (based on the gameplay trailer) that the advertised updated grass is indeed a noticeable thing (at least in some views). I'm unsure how or if the updated grass will be super noticeable during action on the diamond of course. We won't really know until more videos are posted, the devs talk about it, or we've got the game booted up ourselves.
Anyway, comparison shot time.
Below is Strike Zone batting view in 24. Notice the grass in front of the batter. You'll plainly see scattershot of singular blades of grass poking through the normal grass carpet (they literally just look like random green lines sticking up). Gross:

Now! Below is Strike Zone batting view screenshotted directly from the gameplay trailer for 25. Again, notice the grass in front of the batter. You'll plainly see (what I think) is a VAST improvement! Also, I added the red arrow below to draw your attention to the shadow that the baseball is casting onto the updated grass. The shadow itself really demonstrates that this updated grass has depth to it and is no longer just a flat texture as in the past.

As you look past about 15 or 20 feet in front of the batter, it does appear to me that the grass carpet again starts. So it seems to me that the updated grass is culled past this point and the old grass carpet is used. This is a pretty normal thing in video games, so no real surprised that they aren't modeling the updated grass within every inch of the playing field during all gameplay. If this were the case, it'd likely take down framerate.
Bonus shot below. This screenshot below is taken from the Microsoft Store listing of the digital version of 25. Notice the updated grass on the right side of the shot. This could mean that at least Xbox Series X also supports the updated grass.

And the reveal for draft picks was lifted directly off the free agent team reveal that’s been in March to October for several years. If you’re right, it’s simply adding a MTO feature to regular franchise.Comment

Nice comparison shots! The first few feet of grass does indeed look improved.
The funny thing is if you look at this shot from The Show 15 (!!) (I’ve always kept this shot) you see the grass was at a pretty good spot looking 3d and all and not a flat carpet.
If I remember correctly a few installments of the game later on they once said in a blog or video that they reinvented te grass where every blade of grass reacts to the lighting engine and what not and I think this new grass tech has been bottlenecking the engine and therefore they could only show it outside of real gameplay (replays, batter walkups etc.)
This walkup shot from The Show 21 the grass looks gorgeous.Last edited by steventonnon; 02-08-2025, 02:06 PM.Comment

Weird, lately Tapatalk keeps logging me in under a different account for some reason. This post should have been posted under my longtime Operation Sport account lastactionhero but whatever haha."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment
