Former player and coach here as well. I am a clean screen guy and use directional hitting. I too am very intrigued with ambush hitting using my clean screen approach and sitting on pitches at 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-1 and 3-0 green light situations.

Not using the directional feature on any particular pitch amd the hitting ratings weigh heavily on this hitting style.
So I hope to see Ambush hitting as a legit option for my play style becasue now I will be potentially double rewarded sitting on a hanger or middle in fastball using ambush coupled with directional.

This is my favorite time of year because my "Ignore" button gets to work a little overtime so I don't have to hear about how little these people are impressed with the game and won't buy it before they actually see it in action, in every thread there is. 
Anyway, I like all the changes. The throw meter will be great as it will force me to be a little bit less aggressive on routine plays and make me think twice about trying to throw that runner out at home when the bases are full.
Meh, to the homerun robbery. This happen so little in baseball that I can take ti or leave it.
The fielder reaction time is great as others have mentioned because it should separate the good fielders from the great and the bad.
I don't play on high difficulty so the GOAT difficulty will not affect me, but I hope that whoever uses it gets the challenge they are looking for.
Ambush hitting...this, I think, will be the best improvement and the most legit "baseball" improvement. As someone who played the game one fo the first things you are taught is to cut the plate in half. You will hear it talked about during games and even in movies. you cut the plate in half and look for the ball on your half. This is baseball 101 so this addition, because it really is nothing like Guess Pitch, will make this game feel more realistic. I use zone hitting to replicate this in 24 as one maybe a 2-0 pitch you are looking for an up and in fastball, so with the cursor I can guess that. I agree with what someone else said, it is nice to get a little bonus for only swinging on the side of the plate that you were looking at.
IMO this just took the game from a will buy to a definite pre-order.
