I have never used guess pitch and I also use timing and direction for the most part, so I won't be ambushing any pitchers the new way, I'll stick to the old-fashioned way, by attacking the first pitch every so often. But while the new ambush hitting and the old guess pitch are definitely no doubt two separate features, at the heart of it, by their very nature, I can see how people view the two as at least cousins of the same concept. You still need to ''guess'' using either-or both. Right now, I view it in the same lens as when directional/timing used to be the same thing but now they have branched them off into two separate features.
    T-BONE.

    Talking about things nobody cares.

For me it wasn’t a gameplay reveal as much as it was quite a long tutorial on how to use, mostly, the new meters. As every year a bunch of foul balls along with the game on fast play. I would have rather seen a clean screen highlighting all the new animations, etc.

same. I never cared for guess pitch and I probably won't use ambush pitching.
when using the analog stick/directional for batting, Im already guessing type of pitch and location. batting shouldn't be a gimmick.
batting is about understanding situations and picking up a pitcher/catcher trend throughout a game.
