    FANTASY DRAFT

In order to kill time until the new game comes out, I did a fantasy draft to play for a few weeks.

I gotta give SDS credit. If you want to draft a team that wins right away, a fantasy draft is too easy to achieve that.

BUT, if you're doing a fantasy draft that would somewhat mirror real life, SDS seems to have that pretty well programmed. It's really not possible to fill up a team with young future stars. The CPU drafts with an eye on the future. Even top prospects that aren't ML ready are gone fairly quickly.

I've had fantasy draft franchises in the past and really had fun with it, the only reason I went away from it is because using 30 team control with a fantasy draft, while not impossible, is hard to do. Drafting 90 players for each team, and also drafting players for other teams is hard not to skip a player that you want for your team.....

I would consider a fantasy draft franchise in '25, if I knew I didn't have to use 30 team control because the CPU made really good decisions....

    Re: FANTASY DRAFT

I was really into the fantasy draft. Used an app (Spin the Wheel) where I put all the positions in and probabilities. So my picks would depend on the position I spun. Had a lot of fun with it.

With that being said, the annoying thing to me is that way too many young players are playing right away.

Otherwise, loved the idea. There are probably a few other small things I didn’t like, but can’t remember right now what they were.

If you’re curious about the Spin the Wheel app, I created the following wheel. I think that’s my most recent. Can’t at least give a starting point to anyone interested.

    Baseball Positions - Fair Mode

I also have MLB the Show Ballparks, MLB Teams and MLB Teams (Underdogs & Longshots).

That's a pretty cool idea. I do have my own system but I like how you think.

One function I wish they had with the fantasy draft is a "search" feature. Where you look for specifics in a player and search for that, instead of paging through 1000 players at each position.

          Re: FANTASY DRAFT

One huge QOL improvement I would love to see for a 30 team control fantasy draft (I am a fantasy draft junkie) is being able to simulate the picks for the other 29 teams if I want to speed up the draft after I pick the 40 mans for each team etc.

I love 30 teams control for obvious reasons but in its current state it’s not practical to draft for all 30 teams.

I would consider a dice roll system or “spin the wheel” thpe of mechanic if we don’t get that QOL improvement.

You're saying, pick your own 90, but simulate the other 29 teams picks AFTER their 40 man is done?

My issue with 30 team control fantasy drafting is not just the 2700 total picks that have to be made by me for each teams roster, it's that I can't pick for the other teams without my own team's "wants" in mind, if that makes sense. It's hard for me to let the CPU pick a player that I want. lol
