Probably buying. My biggest gripe with the game the past few years have been the graphics/art direction, and to their credit SDS has tackled my two biggest complaints about the graphics, the grass/dirt textures and the uniforms. Both look much improved to me. Still waiting to see what they're doing with Storylines, Stadium Creator, the new offline DD modes, and if the new uniforms means a revamped uniform editor; but at this point the art changes are enough to get me somewhat hyped for 25.

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
There really hasn't been anything that's made be too excited.
With that said, I'm a coward and a sucker. I will likely buy the game before the end of April.
At the end of the day, its still a really solid gameLast edited by Mauer4MVP; 03-01-2025, 09:30 AM.Comment

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
I've played the last few years in Game Pass, so the decision for me is buy 25 or buy 24 for cheaper. Which, to me, is a little bit different than just sticking with last year's.
Very likely buying 25. The Free Agent changes are enough for me to take the plunge. And the fact that I didn't really get very invested in my franchise in 24 (I used my Braves, and the combination of them having a disappointing season and really enjoying College Football 25 meant I basically didn't play after July) helps push me in that direction.

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
Sticking with 24. Overall, I like the look of 25 and the franchise updates, but for me, not worth shelling out $500+ for a PS5 and the game.
I'm not upset they ditched last gen, I get it, but I don't play enough anymore to justify upgrading for just one game.Comment

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
Undecided. It likely not a day one purchase. I am able to enjoy MLB24 with the updated rosters. I also like to occasionally play with historic rosters on past versions. So I have plenty of baseball to enjoy with past versions.
The new infielder animations and new throwing meter are the things that have me most intrigued. The offseason stuff sounds good but the reality for me is I haven't finished a season in years so I never even get to the offseason stuff. It sounds like a nice improvement though.
One thing I wish they would fix is quick counts. I really wish they would make this work like versions prior to MLB23.
So for me, it is likely a pass and wait until late season discount. Maybe once game is released if reviews are praising the new game I'll buy it.
I've seen some good things here in the previews but nothing that screams must buy for me yet.Comment

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
Skipping this year. Only way I was going to buy 25 was if there were noticeable graphical upgrades and/or Y2Y saves.
Will be buying 26 however!

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
I am not a franchise guy so it all depends on on field changes. If new animations and logic is added I'll probably buy. But will wait for reviews and to watch some videos before making the purchase. I play mostly with classic rosters so it will be a while before any of those are ready...thanks to no y2y carry over.Comment

I can barely make it through the season so unless people play often year round or sim alot it sounds nice but realistically you may never get much from this unless you stick to this version for a few years.Comment

After the franchise and RTTS streams, I have pre-ordered a physical copy for regular release day.
Excited to play RTTS again and to see the new franchise stuff in action.
First time I have been excited for an MLB game before release in the last roughly 3 years.Funkycorm

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
Buying. It’s the game I play most every year. I love baseball and buying The Show is like part of the new season. It’s always money well spent for me. I can’t wait.
Pre-ordered digital deluxe and booked the day off work already.Comment

I am in as well. The graphics looked improved, uniforms looked good. I like the FA improvements.
I only hope I can make it through the season to be able to enjoy the off season.🇺🇸 58,281 🇺🇸Comment

Re: Buying or sticking with last years
Buying, the improvements to the importance of the infielders ratings and the throw meter already did it for me. The (finally!) improved grass and dirt is also very welcome although it remains to bee seen how big of change they really made because in the streams it didn’t blow my mind."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment
