The option should be there to play a shorter season but if I didn't play all 162 I would rather sim the rest personally for statistically integrity.

I typically would only play the 29 games in Nba2k because I'm just really looking at per game stats.

My biggest worry, and it's only because I'm a bit cynical from a complete lack of sleep at the moment (If you don't have kids, don't do it...it's great, but also, DO NOT DO IT...), is that it would be billed as the "New Feature!" for franchise in next years game

I know what you mean plus I have 2 boys that are now grown so I've been through that too.In some ways it gets easier in other ways it never does.

Heck, if they ever do bring it back, I won't care if they label it New Feature or *****foot rat poison.
Same with Y2Y saves and SotS. Just gimme and they can call it whatever the hell they want, lol.

Having just enjoyed watching my Braves on a lazy Sunday afternoon, I couldn't resist any longer.

Cannot skip it even if the improvements are minor. I love supporting this developer

We're less than a fortnight away. Its just around the bend!
I love the rebirth of baseball every spring and glad MLBTS is now an ingrained part of that yearly rebirth.

Re: Buying or sticking with last years

I've got to make sure my PS+ renewal is finalized, first. Sony's getting one final year of Essential out of me, unless they stop using Essential to goose the numbers for games that can't even pull a 4.0 User Score on Metacritic...but that's a whole other OT rant.

Anyway, once that's taken care of, pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe edition, and if my schedule permits, I will be streaming it live, the minute it unlocks.

The improvements in RTTS are substantial, and it's not just in the deeper open. They're not just getting rid of the whole system of, leaving your toon's development to the mercy of archetypes and attribute caps and whatever training sessions the RNG unhands. Oh ho ho no, it looks like they're going full Burger King with the player progression.

They did mention there will be more readouts from the booth. I'm not sure how much of that will show up in RTTS, even if you set "watch full": in 24, you get the hybrid package, I think, and even if your team is batting, you're limited to one view from near the dugout.

But if "watch full" includes the "storyline" content--standings, farm reports, and so on--that would make it easier to get "around the league" type information, without tabbing around a bunch of menus. Alternate cameras, when your toon isn't in play, would be even better. It would make "watch full" a viable way to play more often.

That said...a week from this Friday, already?!

Currently enjoying ‘23 offline franchise mode (heading to my ‘25 season) the only thing preventing me from buying THE SHOW 25 is that, I still don’t have a PS5 haha!

Re: Buying or sticking with last years

I'm going to be sticking with '23 actually or maybe until a good sale for '25.
If I didn't have OOTP to run a franchise I think I would buy this years game for the off season improvements.

Like some others mentioned the 162 game schedule is kind of a grind.
I do enjoy playing games in The Show so this year I've decided to play some double elimination tournaments I've set up where I will probably play a good amount of games that at least feel like there is something to play for.

Got cold feet and cancelled my pre order. I’ll wait for a sale. There are really good up to date rosters in the vault for 24 so I had started a franchise a while ago and I am having trouble getting excited about restarting, at least until they get a few gameplay updates and roster updates out for 25. No shade on the game, 25 looks good. Hope everyone that purchased enjoys Day 1.

I am not thrilled about the lack of contract details. It's my understanding that they took out player, and team options, as well as the ability to frontload a contract, or backload. I may be wrong, but if that is indeed the case, it may be enough for me to stay with 24'.

MLBTS 24 leaving Gamepass and with no plans of 25 being there it's a massive blow especially for PC users. I have a Series S but I've played lots of the 24 version on the Xcloud either on PC or my phone. Let's hope at least the new version will be on the stream your own game XBOX service.
I wonder if SDS has data/analytics of the PC users that were using Xcloud to play the game and for some reason they don't want this to happen.
That said, I'll get the new one but I have to say I'm disappointed the game still has a Switch version and not a PC one. I kinda understand they don't want the game to be modded but they're losing big time financially.

Going to wait for a sale. I was aware the game wasn't going to be on Gamepass, yet didn't take advantage of any sales on '24. Currently have '22 installed, but I think I'd rather have '24 or '25. I'll either wait and see if I can get '24 cheap, or a decent sale price on '25. Looking forward to seeing OS reviews for '25.

I'm so used to digital download, I didn't even consider a disk copy. And I was at Walmart a couple days ago. Smh. Appreciate the heads up. Will definitely check into it.
