Ian Anderson
Do you think he'll be in the game at launch? He's supposed to be in the Braves rotation and is on the 40 man roster, but MLB the Show has typically excluded guys who didn't play in the bigs the year before, and Ian hasn't pitcher in the majors since 2022. I have a bad feeling that he won't be and I'll have to wait until mid April until he gets added.Tags: None -

Re: Ian Anderson
I wish they'd do something to prevent this. There are going to be quite a few big name players who missed all of 2024 (Sandy Alcantara, Matt McClain, Shane McClanahan, Felix Bautista, Matt Brash, Liam Hendricks, Lucas Giolito, Lance McCullers Jr) as well as the foreign players (Sasaki, Kim, Osagawara) who will be missing.Comment

Re: Ian Anderson
Something in my memory is telling me that membership in the MLB Players Association is the requirement for inclusion in the game. Not sure how this relates to Mr. Anderson's case but presumably he at least has been a member since he played a couple of years ago.
Also, sorry but there has to be a Jethro Tull joke in here somewhere...Comment

Looks like Sasaki will be on default roster as he was seen on Franchise stream Transactions log.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: Ian Anderson
He was in the game last year. He should be in the game this year. The guys who usually get removed are ones that sign overseas and play in other leagues (i.e. Eric Fedde). Injured players are kept on the roster but removed from the 40-man and end up as FAs in DD mode.Comment

Re: Ian Anderson
Interesting, I must be thinking of 23 then because I remember seeing him at some point on the default roster even though he was injured.Comment

Ian Anderson
Yes, he would have been in 23 with a face scan.

Re: Ian Anderson
Do they have two sets of rules they have to go by? The first rule, for players with no MLB service, they are fair game and can be in, and a second set of rules for players like Anderson, who have to jump thru hoops before being readded?

Re: Ian Anderson
See y2y saves best feature was to get around things like this like importing frok
Previous years games keeping career stats, instead we either wait now till mid April or Jake do with a cap from the vault with a rookie version of Ian Anderson (yeah you can edit service time but with no stats the game treats him as a rookie)
Guess could sim a few years to generate stats in cpu mode to get around that time consuming but will

Re: Ian Anderson
Actually even with Y2Y saves, Anderson would’ve been removed from the game and put under a made up CAP. That was the one issue with the feature is that any SDS player who was removed from the new game was replaced with a random CAP in your ported over franchise and you’d have to rename the player and create a face.
It would have all the career stats and player card and player ID all you had to do was rename the player and do face and if they face scanned in in the future would automate on a began franchise becauce it matched the sizeComment

Re: Ian Anderson
Not entirely true it technically was part of database you had the same ID of the player they would add in the future
