Here's one of my biggest gripes about injuries... The handcuff we are stuck in when you're "injuring" your players in franchise. There are so many limitations when it comes to Injury length. There should be a wider window period for every injury. More specifically the more major injuries OR more injury options. If I have a IRL player that has (ex.) Oblique issue, MLBTS gives you a frame of 16-24 days... Well, we know how injuries work, the window should be much wider; 10-50 days.

OR even better, don't even put a limitation for any injury. Any injury can last between 1 and 365 days (for sake of creating your own beginning of year injuries).

And If my starting pitcher has to have Tommy John surgery in July, the injury should carry over to next year.

In addion to that, I wish setbacks would be a thing in the game.. You have a guys who has a pulled hamstring, set to come back in 2 weeks... a week into recovery, he feels like something isn't right, he's going to be out another 2 weeks.

Keep up to date on MLB injuries with CBSSports.com's injury report.

Looks like they update this regularly. Has estimated return dates as well. Just thought it might help people.

NBA 2K does this. You can add any amount of days to any injury. I believe the Max is 480 days so you can have injuries carry over into the following season.

But that is weirdly not the real injury time, because guys come back way to early all the time.

I'm really not sure how to deal with injuries with my save. Of course I want a realistic experience, but since I won't be doing 30 team control that will be out of the window soon anyway. So I guess I prefer every team to start at full strength and go from there.

I typically only worry about the full season injury guys (ie. Cole) and take them off of the 40 man roster, and put them in A ball before I start my franchise. (In the past at least) The CPU won't touch them, and then will add them back on after the season is done. I don't really worry too much about the more "minor" injuries that keep guys out for less than a month or two.

As others have said though, I'd love a start today feature that has realistic injury times tied to it.
