Went back to meter, I get the whole ratings thing, but I don't like the feeling of having little to no control.

I was using classic at the tail end of 24 going into 25, and while it wasn't that bad, I definitely prefer meter.

Count me as another classic guy. Im a former 2k player that was sold on the gesture pitching gimic and then coming to The Show around 14/15 era i used to use meter. But after watching Armor's stream the last few years here, I've adopted so many of his playing styles that I was already conducive to but really didn't know were available as options. I was already removing some of the video game stuff on screen but I'm totally clean screen now. But the classic pitching is the main thing. Really took the game to another mental level. I also used to let the catcher call pitches but with the pitch comm being added with the visual aid, I'm now calling my own pitches completely. Can't imagine playing any other way.

Yeah, me too. I usually have pitching one step higher than batting. Currently all star/hof Luke you said. Usually a couple of months in I end up bumping to Hof/hof. So long as I’m playing consistently.

Same! One thing I've noticed with Classic this year is that pitchers are missing outside the zone a lot more than in previous years. I walked 6 guys in a game last night because my guys were missing the zone. I felt like in years past they would miss inside the zone way more often.

I'm a classic pitcher all the way, love it, what I also like about it other then ratings based, is it allows to be able to watch my entire pitchers delivery without having to concentrate on a meter.

I use classic and love it. Player ratings matter. All I can do is call the pitch and location. I can't control if he can actually hit that location.

You can control it to a degree. If you press the button, the pitcher will throw it harder, with more velocity, sharper break, and less control. If you tap it, it's a little less velocity, loopier break, better control.

I’ve been playing classic for the last few years on All-Star. I feel the players’ ratings should matter more than skill! Though it hasn’t been too difficult for me…til this year! I keep getting hit around so often, it’s kinda crazy. It could be because my defense is rated 30th overall, but I almost never induce groundouts. And I’ve never been able to replicate real life walk numbers. But most of my off timed pitches miss in the zone instead of outside the zone. Honestly don’t know what to do!

Either way, it’s much different from last year.

Classic Pitching rules.....been playing this way since MLB 2009. I started on meter on 09....discovered classic....never looked back.

I prefer meter. I already do autofield, going classic makes me feel more like I'm watching than actually playing. I have my control and consistency slider set to one, so the pitchers individual ratings do matter a lot. I really enjoy trying to paint corners, a nibble here, a nibble there, sometimes succeeding, many times failing miserably. I also love being able to take a fastball, rare back, taking the meter to the maximum and trying to blow one past the hitter. But I also have to make sure I balance things out and save stamina by not burning the meter to its fullest every single pitch. Got to definitely save the maximum effort pitches for those high leverage situations when I really need it. Same thing about breaking pitches. I like being able to choose to throw say, a hard slider with maximum effort and less movement and more speed, and then trying to baffle the batter by coming back later with a bigger breaking slider using minimum meter effort. The meter just opens up a whole other world of strategy that I just can't attain with the classic meter. The batter-pitcher war is ultimately why I have stuck with playing The Show for fifteen plus years, and while I do enjoy being the batter in that war, it is in being the pitcher that drives my desire to play The Show day in and day out twelve months ayear, even in and especially November to February. March to October is great and all but when baseball is dead in the winter waiting for its spring rebirth, it is nice to be able to have The Show scratch me where I itch. So, no doubt, I'm a meter guy thru and thru, tho I love the fact this game has so many wonderful pitching and batting interfaces to choose from, so that everyone can find their best fit.

Yeah that's my go to, i don't mess with the sliders if i want to up the difficulty i up pitch speed. i think pitch action is better 7/7 but that's just me

I have been using classic pitching forever..This year it feels totally different. Way more foul balls and full counts. First two games and my starters have 60+ pitches before the 4th inning.

Always use classic. Rather it be based on ratings than my stick skills.
