    Overheating on PS5

Has anyone else here encountered this issue? Apparently it's an issue that has been reported on Reddit and the show forums by a multitude of users.

I've played maybe 7 games and already had it happen twice. I should note that (1) I keep my ps5 vertical, and (2) I use a pitching camera that is behind the pitcher so the crowd behind home plate is visible. Apparently everyone else experiencing this has been using this setup.

My ps5 shut off due to it the first time a few days ago. Had it happen again just now so I turned off the console. This is very frustrating.

I’m on ps5 pro and it’s horizontal, use broadcast pitching camera and have played 7-10 games with no issue

Rumor has it if you leave your PS5 in a deep freezer for 48 hours, you'll never have overheating issues again.

I can't say why but I just had the game crash on my ps5. Previously I had the game freeze when I went to the bullpen.

In 500 games of mlbts23 I never had a single instance of freezing or crashing.

My ps5 is horizontal and I use pitcher / outfield camera and I haven’t had any problems. Maybe it’s only if it’s virtical?

It’s happened to me twice. First time my machine just shut off. I had been playing for no more than an hour. Second time I got a warning to turn it off after only playing for about 30 minutes. Other times I’ve played and it doesn’t happen at all.

I’m on the original PS5, lying horizontally, and playing the digital version of the game. I do use the broadcast camera angle when pitching, and I have noticed at times the fan does seem to run louder while I’m pitching - so perhaps there is something to that.

Hopefully this is something that can be fixed with a patch.

Omg this reminds me of my white fat Xbox 360 overheating and getting RROD.

It’s happened to me twice, as I mentioned in a post earlier today. And I will say, it’s happening when I’m playing in parks where there are fans visible behind home plate, but not in parks with no fans visible. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but interesting.

Try a PS5 Stand and Cooling Station, I got it on Amazon last year, seems to work real well. The one I have also comes with a Dual Controller Charging Station, Headset Holder, & a 3 USB Hub.

I dont think this this is an mlb the show issue as much as its a ps5 issue. I have known 3 people who I play the elder scrolls online with that have had the same thing, the system overheats and turns itself off.

All 3 were able to fix it by finding a youtube video on how to take apart the ps5 and clean the intakes in front of the fans. The air gets blocked and cant cool it. They all had cats and the vents were blocked up with dust and cat hair.

I've never had a problem but I don't have any cats. Keeping it off the floor is probably a good idea. Blow the dust out now and then.

I don't thnk they had a PS5 issue as much as they have cat issues. Get a goldfish instead, issue solved.
