Re: Fielder Reaction Colors
Who's the fielder? There is a new setting in 25, for a basic grey, and an option to use team colors. Does any team have all of these colors and then its tied to uniform selection? Honestly don't know, just spitballing.T-BONE.

Re: Fielder Reaction Colors
Sorry...I am referring to the fielder reaction colors that tell you the type of jump the fielder gets. Blue is supposed to be the best jump. But I am seeing many colors with the same fielder. In other words on some plays the fielder gets a perfect jump and on other plays he gets the worst jump. I thought the type of reaction was tied to your ratings...Comment

I believe I remember seeing a visual they shared during the gameplay stream that played out the approximate rate for each outcome (perfect/good/bad) based on the reaction ratingChicago Cubs

Re: Fielder Reaction Colors
It is tied to ratings. Better fielders with a higher reaction rating have a higher chance of getting a perfect jump. There is still some variance - a 99 reaction guy wont get a perfect jump every time.

This is from their Gameplay Feature Premiere.
I was a bit upset to see a 99 is always perfect.Attached FilesComment

Re: Fielder Reaction Colors
I’m not a huge fan of the new reactions. It makes it more realistic I guess. But there are times that a ball that should be routine gets through because the fielder looks like he’s getting ready to face plant when he takes off. Like I said I guess it’s more realistic but it’s taking some getting used to.Comment

Re: Fielder Reaction Colors
For what it's worth, there aren't very many fielders actually rated a 99 in reaction in the SDS rosters (8 of them, all outfielders, all but two center fielders). And, if that does bother you with the highest percentile being perfect on their jumps, one notch down from default on the reaction slider will bring them below that perfect threshold. For example, PCA has a 99 normally, but one notch down makes him a 92 (it doesn't show up on the player card, but it does on the defensive alignment screen brought up with R2 + R3). That would still make him very good at getting jumps, but not perfect. While it does scale everyone else down too, that one notch doesn't mean as much to the lower rated guys since they already have dice-roll reactions.Last edited by bcruise; 03-24-2025, 07:44 PM.Comment
