Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
sounds like that codebase is an absolute trainwreckThis. EA NHL basically removed full presentation from its games because it was causing syncing issues, and online HUT players were getting stuck in a constant loop. And it still hasn’t come back. Even a feature as basic as presentation can and will be removed by a developer if it ultimately prevents people from being able to play gamesComment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
I just played a game in my franchise. 3rd base coach wearing a jacket. Not a big deal but how did they not see this?
My question is I saw this in the first game I played. It was obvious. The developers never saw it? The developers never played in a created stadium to test it? They never tried to upload a created stadium from a previous year? Based upon stadium capacity and elevation being wrong I suspect corrupted files.
Another question is how do bugs enter that game that were not in previous editions? There are problems with manage mode that years ago worked fine and haven't been patched for a few years. How did those get in the game?
If they removed the developer who was responsible for stadiums then that was a big blunder. Instead we get March to October which essentially is franchise lite and something called storylines.≡Comment

Because programming a game is far more complicated than you seem to think it is. That's not an excuse for any of these bugs - i hope they all get addressed - it's just a reality of working with insane amounts of code. Sometimes you change something and it has unexpected consequences.I just played a game in my franchise. 3rd base coach wearing a jacket. Not a big deal but how did they not see this?

I completely understand frustration with the direction of the game or with annoying bugs, but pretending like all these issues are easy fixes or are being ignored because the devs don't care is really very ignorant.Chicago Cubs

You're right. If it hadn't been brought up here, it would have taken me weeks to even notice it. And my comment was tongue-in-cheek-ish.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
This is true. The yearly barrage of patches could be softened a bit tho. An in house tester had to have heard the incessant chants way before release. It’s stuff like that that shouldn’t make it into the final release.the base hit to RF. They were unaware of this? Maybe testers need detailed checklists.Because programming a game is far more complicated than you seem to think it is. I think there’s a lot of discontent over the stadium creator. They had to have known it was fully broken. Guys were eager to get their hands on the game early just for this. I think if they would have just released the game 4 days earlier instead of going after the $$$.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
Yeah I think not as much about identifying the bugs as it is finding a fix. Im sure they were aware of a lot of these things but just hadn't found a fix for them and didn't want to delay releasing a patch that addresses other things. It's definitely a tough balance of getting patches out quickly that also address as much as possibleThis is true. The yearly barrage of patches could be softened a bit tho. Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
Yes, I mean to close out the game, because a standard quit out of a Franchise game will sim the remainder of it.
You can choose the weather in the pregame options, so as long as you know what the weather was going to be (the game log from the pause menu tells you when you're inside a game), you can just select that same weather after quitting the game and reloading. Same with the network theme, but for now at least with the Show Network ticker still bugged I'll just probably stick to the regional theme for all games.
It's a lot to do of course, and some people are gonna be fine with just randomizing it themselves. Personally I like to know what weather the game decided to have though.Last edited by bcruise; 03-25-2025, 01:12 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
The chants and “hit to RF” bugs weren’t happening when the game released for early access. It was the second patch that caused it. Also they work on the game and make changes pretty late before release. So some of those changes might cause bugs to pop up later in the cycle and the testers didn’t have enough time to relay the issues with the development team. This is true. Peace.
Then on top of all this, they have a release date to hit. In the old days they would push back and hope they got all the bugs and if needed, roll back to an earlier code that didn’t have the major bugs. Now they release on time and fix things in downloadable patches.
Not sure about the Stadium Creator issue outside of it working locally but not when the servers were opened up for all. Either way that’s the only one I’m surprised they didn’t even mention after release and note that they would fix. All of the other bugs I’m not surprised about since they can pop up at any time during the cycle and get missed by QA/testers.Comment

Here are some tips that can help you answer your questions about coding (which makes me sound like a bot):I just played a game in my franchise. 3rd base coach wearing a jacket. Not a big deal but how did they not see this?

Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
I'll post my own content but thanks for the helpful advice. It's a valid question. How do these bugs enter the game annually when previously there was no problem?Originally posted by countryboyShut the **** up with the constant condescending remarks about the devs and making smartass comments about modes you don’t play and the belittling of those that play it.
It’s getting really ****ing old.
For you to constantly promote yourself as being better and smarter than those who make the game only proves how you have an enormous sense of self entitlement.

No one called it unbearable. It was simply pointed out that it wasn't fixed. If we're complaining about having to manually pick the weather than that just means that we haven't run into any bigger issues.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Patch #4 - Patch Notes
This is such a good game, gameplay wise. It looks a lot better this year as well. It seems like every year we're getting more and more bugs coming along with it. They normally all get fixed but it makes me want to reconsider by day 1 purchase every year because I always find myself waiting around a month or longer to get started because I want everything to be fixed for my liking. This is true.
