Why still no batter’s eye in Fenway?!

Every year I hope it’s fixed but this year it’s still the same. Day games in Fenway are unplayable because the ball just disappears in the crowd behind the pitcher.

This is what it should be during day games:

I think it’s because it’s either both or neither, meaning they either have the batters eye for both day and night games or not at all. Can’t think of any time they’ve had different setups for the same stadium depending on time of day.

Would be a very nice touch if they did though. Would also help daytime hitting massively.

I guess it matters what cam angle you use too. I use fisheye and I dont have a problem with the lack of batters eye. In fact I cant wait to play there. My pitching might suffer but I'm gonna score some runs.

Looking back over the last five years 21 22 and 23 all had the batters eye but then they removed it last year with 24 but for the life of me I can't imagine why they would.

100%. I use Catcher Far (MLB 16) and I don't have any issues at Fenway.

Now day games in Minnesota...different discussion entirely.

Because Fenway has a lot of night games at the end of the season so people were mad the fans were missing in the playoffs.

Ohhh that’s why I couldn’t remember I had a hard time playing there during day games in previous editions.

I’ll be damned! This is from ‘23. Could it be a bug or done on purpose?

                  I use fisheye as well.

My first game at Fenway i struggled HARD. I may have to angle it more even with the mound in hopes the wall helps. If not, I am clueless.

Pretty sure on purpose. Because play at night in 23 and the tarp is still there. I remember people complaining that in the playoffs the tarp shouldn’t be there so wouldn’t be surprised if they took it out for that reason.

Ahhhh I remember that, then it’s definitely a situation where they can only either have it in (day and night) or out and chose the latter.

If that was actually the reason they removed it…what a terrible reason.

I mean I get it but it’s a video game. We can sacrifice some realism for the sake of making a better gameplay choice.

Yes, kind of. It’s in for both day and night games so it’s not “realistic”, but it’s way better for a batters eye.

Ah bummer, although I like it better this way because of day games being playable again.
I think if they want to have the tarp on during day games and off during night games the only way for SDS to do this is to have 2 completely different stadiums and that’s not good for the file size of the game.
