Utley is hitting .103 in real life right now and he's already the lowest Gold player in the game, how long do you think he's gonna remain there? I could see a 4-5 point drop in his near future, I wouldn't wanna be stuck holding him when I could have just kept Altuve and made a few thousand stubs off Utley while he was still a Gold. I realize Altuve can net you a lot of stubs, but there are other ways to make stubs.

Hell, I could easily see Altuve going up to a 93 in the very near future, which would make him a Diamond level card, and he'd be worth even more. Now is not the time to sell Altuve.

But don't listen to me, I've sold Cano, I've sold Posey, and I've sold Trout 2 separate times lol, all pulled from packs. So I can't even take my own advice, but that's because I have a crippling pack addiction.
Let me clarify- Utley probably ranks as the 3rd best hitter on my team stats wise(have Stanton and Freeman) but I RAKE with him. I'm hitting .349 and have .604 SLG with him in around 150 ABs.

I'll run Altuve out there a few times and see what happens though.

Got Altuve after a game a couple days ago.....must be my lucky week because I just nabbed Cueto.

For those following my Utley vs. Altuve conundrum...Altuve's been a solid contact hitter for me (hitting .250 in a small sample size for me, but lots of solid outs), but hitting just clicks for me with Utley somehow. After re-inserting him into the lineup he hit 3 HRs for 8 RBIs in 2 games. I'll probably keep Altuve just to go for the Astros collection.

Oh yeah. Finish aDD game and get nothing. I'm trying to finish the Yankees collection so I look at my collection and boom a Julio tearon pops up! Nice, it's one of the most expensive silvers and I can now get neikro! I sold Simmons yesterday but it shouldn't be hard to get him back. I'll wait for the price on the other pieces to drop but that should only take a few days. My sp was the weakest spot on my team so this helps immensely.

            Re: Best Card After Game

Just got beat by a bunt cheeser, and was pretty mad, especially after a common was the card that got selected. However, the second card received was a gold Yadier Molina. Needless to say, I got over the loss pretty quickly.

Now, my dilemma is what to do with Carlos Santana? He's been my best hitter but I might need the extra defense/arm at catcher. I can't move him to 3b/1b, because my only two legends, Scmidt and Clark, are there.

Lost a pretty good game, but pulled Glen Perkins for the loss.

Yeah I listed him already since I didn't need another pitcher.

Couldn't believe it. Flipped him right away from 54k, which is all I needed to snag Ortiz and Pedroia to finish the Red Sox and get Ted Williams.

Even if you're hitting well with Utley now, his attribute ratings are due for a drop, so you should sell Utley now while he still has some value and rebuy him later once he inevitably becomes a cheap silver player.

Altuve could easily become a Diamond soon. I'm holding onto my Altuve until he A) goes Diamond or B) his real world production cools off. Neither has happened yet. But Altuve's price has already gone from 17K during the promo weekend to 35K now that his supply is drying up again. I can only imagine how high his price will become if he goes Diamond. He's already the best 2B in the game against lefties.

I was lucky enough to snag him yesterday for 24k which I thought was a great price. No doubt he's gonna become a diamond and even if he doesn't I can still make an easy 10k off that purchase. I was originally going to buy Tanaka because he's all I need to get berra (thank you market crash!) But I scraped up enough spare stubs to get altuve. I can't hit with him whatsoever and I have Cano so I probably won't keep him although I seriously want bagwell. I could sell Cano but I can actually hit with him lol. Idk what to do.

I'm not sure if Altuve can even become a diamond. His contact, vision and speed are all but maxed out so there's no room for improvement there. He's merely an above average defender (although he has yet to commit an error this year) so I doubt they bump up his fielding. He doesn't hit for power and he doesn't walk much either so they can't bump up the power or the discipline either.

As great as he is, I can't see him becoming a diamond simply because his stats are damn near maxed out in the categories that he excels at.

His contact could be made higher. He's one of the best contact hitters in baseball so there's no reason they can't make it even higher.

He has 99 contact vs. lefties. There's obviously no way to increase that. His batting average versus righties is 162 points lower than it is against lefties so there isn't a logical reason to raise that either. I think he stands pat where he is right now. Nothing wrong with that though, his card is great as is.
