Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
I think I do that instinctively many times. Again, it seems like either a perfect throw, or no throw at all. I guess I try to press too late. Do you know when to start pressing it? Is it like preloading with other fielders, so you would would do it while the pitch is still on the way? Thanks for the help.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
I think this is what MrOldboy was saying, but: hold it while the pitch is still coming to the plate, and just keep holding it until the ball is thrown. I don't think I've had any instances of my catcher just standing there and not throwing since I learned that trick.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
I don't actually know what people are referring as "pick-off glitch" here and I don't know if that's related to what I'm writing here, but has anyone noticed how you cannot really pick off base runners taking an extra step lead this year?
I often see my opponent taking an extra step lead and no matter how many times I try to pick them off (with different types of pickoff move), I cannot seem to have success, at least not as often as I used to before MLB 15. It used to be that your success of picking off was much higher when the runner takes an extra step lead.
Of course there is still a very significant chance that the pitcher throw away the pickoff, so as it stands it seems to me that the running game is too heavily favoring base stealers.
Has anyone noticed this?
Not sure if it's related but here's another recent post about pickoffs:

How do you have a second team? I only see setup option for one. It would be fantastic if I could make a second DD team my family could use and design their own logs and uniforms without messing up mine.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
What is this lag switch or network interruption thing? I was playing someone could have sworn they were cheating but doing something nefarious. Basically the game would run fine while pitching and while HE was hitting. But when I'd hit a ball to the gap suddenly the game would lag to hell and I would not be able to get extra bases because if I did there'd may such a mis-sync that I'd be thrown out with my gu stuck between bases. He also did it a few times when he hit to my outfield and it would make it nearly impossible to catch the ball. Thus he would get a indie the park homeruns or triples off of a flyout or single.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
So I just played this scrub where every time I would put the ball in play while I was on offense the lag would get ridiculous to the point I couldn't command my base runners. Oddly enough when he would put the ball in play we had no lag. ScrubsComment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
I would think of all sports games this one would have the least cheesers. I guess not. everyone I play just lays down perfect bunts and throw breaking balls off the plate.
I wonder if it'll get better with time or maybe online gaming in general is just tainted forever.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
I still beat him 6-3......what I learned is you simply have to play station to station baseball otherwise you will have guys thrown on what should have been easy doubles, etc.
I can't believe people waste our time by lagging the game on purpose....it truly is insanity.
80% of my DD games have been legit....but those 20% lag cheating bastards....OMG man. Since I really don't care about my record in the end I have just started to quit those lag games.....it really is infruiating. Now Playing on PS5:
