Righty on righty/lefty on lefty overpowered?

I know it's not just me because my pitchers' average against is about the same, but how many of you simply can't hit with righties against righties and lefties against lefties?

All of my righties hit in the .170-.195 range vs RHPs and my lefties in the .200-.210 range against LHPs. It's gotten to the point where my lineup consists of 6 lefties, 2 switch hitters, and my pitcher. My bench is 5 righties that plug in for the lefties vs LHP SPs. I'm essentially platooning every position, lol.

It's probably how you approach your at bats. I'm the exact opposite. My righties dominate righties and lefties kill lefties lol
Change your approach or maybe change the cam. Could be that simple

It's physically impossible to catch up to 96+ mph heat up and in, which EVERYBODY throws religiously at 1700 rank+, unless you tell yourself that you're swinging at it before he even throws it. And at that point, you're done.

Some of my splits for both hitters and pitchers:
      R / L
      Lofton (L): .369 / .323 (only good one)
      Williams (L): .335 / .221
      Wright (R): .233 / .333
      Encarnacion (R): .162 / .400
      Martinez (R): .235 / .289
Trout was around .160 / .450 when I sold him

      Pitchers:
      Perkins (L): .222 / .042
      Petit (R): .234 / .295
      Feliz (R): .190 / .250

Honestly this thread should just be titled "high inside heat overpowered?", because that's what it boils down to.

lol I get your frustration. I don't play online as much as I used to. But I can imagine that's the general trend or it continues to be.

People (and the CPU on high difficulties) will always try to bust you up high or low inside in R v R or L v L matchups. That doesn't really change.

Not sure this qualifies as OP though, more like a an overused tactic.
This year I find the bigger weapon is not so much the high heat but the offspeed stuff, they've kind of overdid the speed changes to my taste.

You need to take the time and develop a lineup for both lefties and righties. I know I have switched my game up and looked deep into the hitting stats. You need to find hitters that hit well against righties that are right handed like cuddyear or josh harrison. Get switch hitters like vmart or reyes or lower ones like melky or eybar. You have to create the matchup problems not help aid it.

Look for hitter that have reverse splits. That just want I do and havent had any problems.

I also have issues with high inside heat but I think I know how to combat it. I'm thinking the higher a batter's plate vision the less problems you will have with this pitch.

I also think more patience at the plate might help. Don't always try to go after that high and inside pitch because it will not be called for a strike every time.

I dislike how I sit on a high inside fastball, time it "good" and foul it off 6/10 times, pop it up 3/10 times, and hit a bomb 1/10 times. It is frustrating.

The common theme of every elite (in the game's standards, not real life) is a lethal changeup. Some of them don't really make much sense. I'm too lazy to look it up, but somehow I doubt Nolan Ryan's changeup dipped to 77-78 when his fastball was hitting 98-100.

I must be weird or something, my problems hitting aren't the inside fastballs. Now I should probably note that I just started trying games on Legend, and I obviously need some (a lot?) more practice, but I've had several AB's where the CPU will throw the same pitch 6, 7 times in a row. So while they're throwing sliders and curveballs low and away, I'm sitting there thinking that a fastball, cutter, something else has to be coming, but it's another slider / curve / change up (which I agree that change ups are way harder to hit this year).

So yeah, how are you getting your opponents to throw fastballs inside all the time? =P

We are talking about Head to head where you play another human online. They bust you up and in a lot more than the CPU
