Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
Wait, I'm confused by this message in the help menu on the collections screen - if you hit quick menu, then click help it says "Collections are completed, per team, by collecting at least 25 unique MLB Players from that team. For example, if you collect 25 unique MLB Players for the Red Sox, you will unlock Ted Williams."
So does that mean you don't have to get all 40 out of 40 cards for the Red Sox (35/35 Yankees, so on) but only 25 of them in order to claim the legend? Or what does that mean?Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
if you are looking at the collection and you show all cards (press square) you have to collect every card listed after the legend.
For Boston that would be 40 total players. NYY is 35 total players. etc.Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
I have completed the Royals, A's, Diamondbacks, and Stadiums. The Arizona collection was all done for under $3k, no Goldschmidt needed.
Also, if you do the stadiums---you then can turn around and sell the stadiums again.Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
I did stadiums last night after pulling and selling a diamond bat. Still have around 7k after that and getting all the Cubs save for Lester. Most of the MLB stadiums are 100 - 200 and the minor league ones are two digits. Even though there's 60+ of them, it's all pocket change.Last edited by bcruise; 04-18-2015, 03:14 PM.Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
And people have gotten smart about the cheap collections. Crappy bronze and silver players for teams like the Marlins and angels are through the roof because they know people need those players because they're doing easy collections.Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
I completed the Rockies set this morning. I had buy orders in for Dickerson and Blackmon who were the final 2 I needed. Got them both for 575 Stubs. Only team I have completed so far. I am 2 cards away from completing the Phillies. Still need Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee.Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
Yeah, for the Red Sox in specific, you need all 40 players. It says "at least 25" which means each team when the game launched had at least 25 players on their card collection list I think.
Speaking of the Red Sox, I only need to get David Ortiz and I'm done with the set... but his price unexpectedly skyrocketed from 15-18k (which I finally have enough for) all the way to 50k.
My best chance of completing the set finally is to put in an offer of close to 18/20k and hope someone will sell their copy.
This is the only set I'm going out of my way to accomplish.-the least famous person you've never heard of.Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
Ortiz should come back down, he's already at 29K so you should be able to get him for 20 if you're patient. Don't shop on weekends, is all I can suggest. Good luck, Red Sox is a nice first collection to complete.Comment

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
OK. Yeah the wording is confusing because even when the game launched there were more than 25 Red Sox, so it made it sound like you only had to collect a minimum of 25 cards from each team. Experience says otherwise so I was confused.

In the meantime, I'm just going to keep collecting stubs (Such a drag, only 150-200 a game) and selling the garbage cards I get.
I'll overpay a little if I need to (I want Ted Williams, and I want the Legend trophy, it's one of the only two I need for the easiest Show platinum ever, the other being pitcher homerun) for this one specific player, but I can't imagine I'll try completing another set. Too many stubs.
EDIT - WOO. I finally finished the collection. Ted Williams is MINE.Last edited by legacyme3; 04-20-2015, 10:48 PM.-the least famous person you've never heard of.Comment

Yeah, I've put in a buy order of about 21,000 and last I checked, I was the the third highest buy order, so with luck, I'll have him sooner, rather than later.

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
Cubs
Angels
Bluejays
Others I can potentially finish up for a legend are:
White Sox
Diamond Backs
Red Sox (in need of some serious golds though)
Dodgers
Twins
Phillies
Grinding away still. I figure by the summer (all-star break) I could potentially have 5-6 more legends. Sitting on just 24K in stubs now.
I am being smart. I buy a pack here and there now after going nuts with 65 packs (blew my wad lol) last week and having a blast pulling a ton of nice cards.
I am very interested to see how the dynamic card market will shake out as the season rolls on. All of us could be sitting on some future gems.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 04-21-2015, 07:17 AM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Cheap Collections To Complete
I had no idea how the collections worked and was dreading all the expensive mariners, athletics and other guys ill never use. Im going to reexamine tonight and fill a ton more collections the smart way now since i already have some of the tough ones done. Sooner or later though my team will mirror my real life fantasy draft team
