Buy low-High Reward players you need to buy now before they get expensive

For those of us that he either don't have the luxury or luck of having a team full of legends and diamond players and need to get creative to stay competitive.

    Official thread.

Those players that are bound to receive a rating bump considering the way they're playing in a real life and are really affordable cards AS OF NOW.

I'll start with a couple and you'll follow throughout the season:

Mike Moustakas - You can find him around 85-100 coins

He's bound to get a nice rating bump. He's just destroying the ball in real life. .942 OPS, .350 average.

Trevor Bauer - Get him NOW! Pretty awesome pitcher and so far kinda hard to hit for the human players I have faced with him.

    Fun delivery

Nice Splitter, Change, Curve and 95 mph fastball...Rating bump potential for the whole season if he keeps it up.

Jorge Soler - Started season as Bronze...Silver by now. Fairly cheap. Jump on it while you can.

Steven Souza Jr - Also started as Bronze and is a nice shiny Silver now. Good runner, really good hitter...good player all around. Has potential

I've got a like 5 Souza's. I think he gets a boost at some point.

I also grabbed a bunch of JD Martinez and Gregory Polanco. Both of them are around 75, but have been having good seasons.

Bauer is a guy I might have to take a look at. I bought a few cards of him earlier in the season, but I fed them for some reason.

Wouldn't sharing this information on certain players pretty much ruin their value or the point? I mean, no offense, i know plenty of people appreciate this tip...just seems like it would be counter productive lol. All good though. Not complaining. I have my 3-5 guys i flip daily and make easy profit off of too =)

A guy I would keep an eye on is Arquimedes Caminero, a RP for the Pirates. He is second only to Chapman in hitting 100mph this year. In 11 games he has 13 SO and 3 BB. His ERA is a 3.4 but he gave up a run to Detroit and 2 to the Cubs a couple weeks ago...his last 4 appearances he has been lights out.

He is currently rated a 60 and his velocity bar is no where close to where it should be. Chapman's is a 99, his is a low 70. He may not get any love in a ratings bump but he should.

Have they changed any pitcher's stuff yet or has it only been ratings? Tanaka still has his change which he doesn't throw for example.

To be honest though, the dev team doesn't make drastic ratings changes with these updates. We saw what, a 5 point OVR increase in a few players. That isn't enough to make someone go from 100 to 5k or something. You'd get more value from your stubs by just flipping cards like normal, even if you only get in the hundreds on each flip. Don't stash cards in the hope they increase in value. You could have been flipping with those stubs in the meantime.

I won't say how many stubs I've gotten so far, but people would probably be surprised that I haven't put a cent into the mode and have the stubs and players that I do.

One costly issue is the collections though, complete them ASAP if you want a player. The Cubs collection for example got expensive as extra players showed up that were sort of costly. Plus even if they suck since they are new they are rare. You might have to overpay for a few players, but it's better than needing Russell and Bryant.

I definitely agree. Even if they tweeked him, maybe he goes from 20 stubs to 100...lol. I dont see anyone jumping from a bronze to gold or silver to diamond. And by the time they would, most people involved with DD would already have the card.

This is part of my issue with DD. Even if they change stats, what does it matter? By the end of July, people who are big into DD will have every card and I just see the values dropping like a rock after July/August unless new cards are introduced.

The amount of DD players that go on the forums is less than 1%. Don't think it would make too much of a difference.

For me I feel it could diversify what players are being used a little bit, especially pitchers if they fluctuated a bit more. If Neshek keeps pitching poorly maybe they reduce his ratings. That would piss off all the Neshek abusers online at least and maybe get the to switch to someone else. The problem is, who cares when you can just field a team of legends anyways and not have to worry about ratings changes. I've pretty much exhausted my interest in the mode by now and all that is left to do are the collections. I'll try to field a starting lineup of just legends at least at some point.
