Too deep at 2B.
Not a bad problem to have honestly but I just pulled altuve (standard pack not the tops50 pack) just looking for some advice bc prior to pulling him I had padroia starting most of the time and alway vs leftys and dee Gordon against righties sometimes or off the bench. Now I know how good altuve is but the set up I have has been working nice and I'd like to get rid of one of these guys. I can't sell padroia bc he is locked from the Red Sox collection. My main question is do you think altuve a market will improve after this tops 50 pack ruined his market value. He is going for 20k now and I really don't have a need to finish the Astros collection. I'd like to see altuve return to 35k+ but idk if that will happen. Could fill out my pen a bit and finish a few collections with the extra stubs then.Tags: None -
Re: Too deep at 2B.
I've finished both the red sox and Astros collection and dee Gordon still starts for me. Altuve sucks when I play with him (.179 avg over 160 ABs) and dee is just a monster (.315 over 500 ABs) that being said, get rid of altuve now, or buy one of you have the spare stubs and wait until his price rises again . If the packs are for a limited time, he'll increase in value

Re: Too deep at 2B.
I've used him in a couple games. He is hitting .295, 0 hr 1 rbi and 2 SB. Outside of the SB I'm thinking I'll go back to padroia soon. I'm slightly better power wise with him and Gordon fills the speed need as well as altuve does and I don't see the point in having a back up 2B that is that isn't a lefty when I start padroia. Then again see Gordon hasn't done a lot for me yetComment

Re: Too deep at 2B.
Same problem. I've had no desire to do the Astros collection because I pulled Cano first day and he's money. I have dee too but never play him because I can't hit with him and I don't use speed. I'd wait because he will be back to where he was in a week. Everybody's price is down. Just use pedroia imo.Comment

Re: Too deep at 2B.
Altuve is a great hitter idk what yaa talking about and with that speed he is overall better than pedroia in my opinion. Speeds kills in this game with that being said since you already have pedroia and can only sell altuve wait for his price to rise back up.Comment

Re: Too deep at 2B.
I don't doubt how good he is. He is on pace with padroia minus the hr aspect but steeling is so easy in this game I can do almost as well with padroia.Comment

Tell me how good of a chance you got stealing with pedroia against a good catcher my D.d catcher won't even sweat XDComment

Re: Too deep at 2B.
The devs just upped the runner speed too much without taking into account fielder animations. Catchers take too long to get throws out and tagging this year can be a mess, then add in how difficult it is to time your throw to 2nd. Preload...nope just gonna stand there.
When you have players online who hit L2 whenever anyone with speed is on without taking a lead, that is a problem. They don't even care if you pitchout and slide step, they will still be successful a majority of the time no matter what and they know it and abuse it.Comment

Re: Too deep at 2B.
You'd think so, but even a 63-70 speed runner will be successful most of the time against 99 throwers. Unless you slide step and pitch out. My DD catcher has high 90s throwing, but only throw out maybe 20% of runners. This is with only slidestepping and throwing a strike.

Re: Too deep at 2B.
My dd guy is a catcher as well and is near maxed out on stuff to prevent steels yet it still happens to much. I do steel but not nearly as much as some ppl. Gets kinda annoying when ellsbury or altuve get on and they throw over every other pitch when Im not taking a step.Comment

Re: Too deep at 2B.
I start Cano vs Righties and Altuve vs Lefties. Cano out hits all other 2B's and there isn't a big difference between Padroia and Altuve except for the speed plus I favor Contact over Power.
Since Cano gets most of the starts I like having Altuve on the bench as my late inning speed guy.
Devon Travis may make this argument irrelevant in a month lol.Comment
