I don't have a super elite team or anything but my best picture is Jeff Samardizja. People seem to have a real hard time picking up his slider and he racks up the k's.

For me Ryan has been the best by far, better than seaver. That 99k is no joke and makes him really fun to use. I just threw a perfect game with neikro. He's incredible too. I recently bought scherzer and he's a machine. Very few hits. I'm surprisingly effective with Cole hamels and David price. Not many ks but solid. I've used many of the golds but I'm best with these. For some reason I've struggled with greinke, Fernandez, Tanaka etc. Sonny Gray is good too, even before his update. I prefer guys with high k9 rates. As far as relievers, I love Robertson, betances, and Furbush. For silvers, Carlos Martinez and verlander are solid.

Yu Darvish for me is just awesome, his 12-6 is just deadly in DD i find.

Samardzija is doing well for me, too. He's 8-0 for me, even after his attributes went down.

What do you guys think of Sale? I'd like to pick him up being a sox fan, but I never see him mentioned and haven't faced him in 100 games. Why does no one use him? He would be a 3rd leftie in my rotation which I'm hesitant to do. How do you guys feel about lefties in a rotation?

Everyone sets their lineups to face right handed pitchers, so lefties are way better in my opinion. I've faced Sale a few times, and I didn't like it. His delivery is a little funky and I had to try to adjust to it. I'm gonna try to get him if I can.

You're kidding right? The top players have two lineups and the one you never want to face is their lefty masher lineup full of Bagwell, Cruz, Cutch, Donaldson etc. plus the righties they have that hit lefties well anyways. To put it in perspective, when I face a lefty Ted Williams, McGriff and Bryce Harper go on the bench. Even if the replacements equal who they replaced you often end up with a stronger lineup due to the right handed hitters remaining in the lineup hitting lefties better. Tulo for instance.

You make a good point, I guess there are more players who hit lefties better. That still doesn't change the fact that people set their lineups to face righties. When they see you have a left handed pitcher, they have to make all of their substitutions, But they can only bring in at most 5 guys. Most people don't just have 5 alternates that they use against a left handed pitcher, so they might only sub in 3 guys like I do. Then they have 3 specialists against lefties and the rest of their lineup is set to face righties. I still think you'll have a better matchup in that instance.

You don't need more than 4 or 5 bench bats for replacement. No need to replace players like Trout, Tulo or Cutch and others like them. If you have some hitters like these in your lineup who hit both sides well you can afford to leave them in vs LHP and RHP.

The upside is that many of these same players hit better against LHP as well so your vs LHP lineup will end up being stronger. This is why I only go with right handed starters now.

Not everyone has all of the best players in the game though. Many do, but the players I play certainly don't.

The majority of my line up are righties anyway because I just struggle to hit with lefties. So bringing a left handed pitcher to face me is probably going to be on my favor anyway. I like a right on right matchup more than a left on left. And I do have Subs for my lefties if I ever have to face one (dee/Altuve, Ted/Cruz or Bautista, and rizzo/Bautista). So I really have no problem facing one, and most back out anyway if they see a lefty against their starting lineup

Johnny Cueto is 11-2 with a 1,51 era. He has so much movement on his pitches that against opponents who dont strike out or chase balls outta the zone I can usually just pitch to contact and kerp the lineup locked down. Chris Sale on the other hand gets rocked every game, though i should admit Im a novice at head to head. Its odd he averages over a k per inning but unless that sliders working nothing but bombs. Other pitchers that i struggle with are cole and archer. Good ones have been Strasburg, Kluber, and shields
