I am not good with and high rated right handlers.

My best right handed hitter is Todd Frazier with a .236 BA. My whole lineup is lefty except SS and 3B which lack good options with leftys. Even then, I want a few rightys in case my opponent brings in a lefty. I do practice mode and I do decent but in games, I just suck. I got Trout and went 1 for 18 before I gave up. Sold him, finished my Red Sox collection and got Ted Williams. Very nice! Bought Tulo for SS and I'm now 0-26 with him.

Anyone have any similar experience and maybe any tips to think about to get past this?

People tend to be more careful to elite players. Most of the time will throw you junk cuz you are eager to swing. Take pitches and wait for something you like

For me its high rated players in general. Hitting .236 with Miggy, .182 with Goldy, and .111 with Tulo. I tear it up with silvers and some Golds. I haven't tried Trout yet. I plan on picking him up soon though.

My best player as far as average is Brandon Crawford but he just hits singles. Joey Votto is my best power hitter. Ted Williams is off to a great start.

First game after posting this. Tulo hits a game winning HR. He is batting 0.40 now!

Re: I am not good with and high rated right handlers.

I have or have had several right handed studs and could not get going good with them. On the other hand I tear it up with lefties. Low or high rated ones. Almost my entire lineup is left handed batters now because of it. I am not sure why but right handed batters just are not as good on this game. I have/had Yount Killabrew Puig Donaldson Frazier Bryant ARod Kinsler Dozier Braun Pujols and my created 99 rated Mike Piazza to name a few and none have cracked 300 average or hit for power in fact most were under 250 average. My lefties are all over 300 some 400 and Rizzo Harper McCann Crawford Kipnis are all studly even Adrian Gonzo,Steve Finley,Gardner,Lofton,Joc Pederson,Vogt,Gordon,Fielder,Zobrist, and several others hit for power and average. Very strange I thought it was just me. Also seems like most of my hits are to the opposite field with lefties and for guys they put a shift on for there is a huge gap and they devastate it. If I can get enough stubs to try Trout I will and that will be the telling tale. If I cant hit 300 with him and power then I give up on right handed batters. Even against left handed pitchers my lefties rake. Really no reason to use a righty other than a favorite player(like me with Piazza) cause no matter how high rated they are they do not produce. At least not for me so far. Hope I can work it out cause there are several right handed batters I want to use but do not because of this

Putting Tulo in front of Willams and Harper has helped. He is up to .200.

Re: I am not good with and high rated right handlers.

I hit pretty poorly with all my right handed hitters. Machado, Adam Jones, Bryant. But it's mostly because I'm almost always hitting against right-handed pitchers. It's harder to hit fastballs in and it's easier to hit and read breaking pitches that are breaking toward you.

I hit very well with Joc, Rizzo, Ellsbury, Kipnis, my created player...but on the off chance I face a LH starter those are the guys I struggle with for that game. So for me its actually pretty spot on with real baseball.

Same with me. Mike Trout was the worst hitter on my team at one point. And this was back when I had a mostly silver squad.

                  It's a combination of:

                  a. Most pitchers in DD mode are right handed, thus your hitting output from your right handed hitters will be dramatically less

                  b. People tend to be more cautious and not throw strikes to elite players

Re: I am not good with and high rated right handlers.

As Twinkie12 said, most players will more or less perform better with opposite side hitters.

I'm always trying new things when it comes to hitting. My next experiment is to try going the other way with righty batters. Hopefully, this will sort of force me to wait longer so when those breaking balls move away from me I might have a better chance.

I still don't understand why I'm having so many problems this year with high and inside pitches. I wish the hit influence feature still worked. Maybe if I pretend it works I might do better.

Honestly dude, go get Bagwell. Astros are relatively easy to complete, or just go buy him outright.

I was the same as you with RH hitters, but he just rakes everybody. RHP/LHP doesn't matter. Batting over .400 with him, and he is one of the few who easily gets sinkers up in the air for power.
