95K no speed or fielding
Man Bryce Harper fielding is horrible 95K plus for a guy who can't field and who's speed is non existent since getting Harper his made some key errors. This is why trout is soooo expensive he does everything and has speed!!Tags: None -

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
Agree to disagree. You can buy one Trout for 50k (which he won't be 50k for a month or two, 90k right now) or you can buy 90 ovr Justin Upton (10k), 89 ovr Carlos Gomez (10k) and 88 ovr Hunter Pence (7k). Thats a total of 27k for a really great outfield at current prices. A third of the cost of buying one Trout at current price.Comment

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
I have a Diamond Harper - pulled it from a preorder pack.
Pretty much a no brainer to upgrade to Trout, right?Comment

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
You could sell Harper and be able to buy two diamonds. But if we are talking trout vs Harper honestly trout is the total package speed fielding good hitting. Harper does kill right handed pitchers but so does trout if you know how to use him but trout price is on some next lvl stuff right now.Comment

Haven't bought stubs, just the preorder and working the market thus far I have:
Bryce Harper
Ichiro (Legend)
Matt Holliday (Legend)
Carlos Correa
Adrian Gonzales
Miguel Sano
Russell Martin
Joe Panik
deGrom (Rookie Throwback)
Syndergaard
Carlos Martinez
Carlos Corrasco
Pineda (Mariners)
Guess I can't really go wrong either upgrading to Trout or filling a few holes.Comment

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
I was thinking about that, but I'm a little worried that if I opt to do that I'll eventually price myself out of getting Trout down the road assuming prices go down.

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
You don't buy Harper for great defense or speed. You buy him to hit the cover off the ball and he does that as well as anyone else in the gameComment

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
Sorry I should have made this clear I sold him and bought Trout because trout does more and is more versatile. If I'm dropping that much on a player you better be able to hit, field ,run and fly Trout does all those things.Comment

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
It depends what part of the team building process you are at, guys like Upton, Gomez and Pence aren't good enough to crack my starting 9 (although I have Upton on the bench to pinch hit vs lefties) Harper is a game changer on offense and bats LH. If it's simply an argument of Trout vs Harper you're probably right to go with Trout, but Harper is still one of the best cards in the game and when you say he has no speed I think you really mean he's not a big threat to steal bases (which he isn't in real life either) he has like 67 speed if I remember correctly he doesn't get singles on gappers or thrown out at 2nd like a lot of the other big hittersComment

Re: 95K no speed or fielding
Harper hits much better than trout. The speed isn't that big an issue now that Trout's baserunning has been brought down to a more accurate level. Harper has a good arm and his fielding doesn't make him a liabilityComment
