Best position player for around 10,000 stubs?

In your opinion, do you guys have any suggestions on which position player gives you the most value for 10,000 stubs or less? I have around 10,000 and would like to build my team around this person. Thanks!

What play style do you prefer ? Are you offensive minded, defensive minded ? Do you like power guys or contact guys ? How important is speed to you? Personally I like to build from middle out: catcher, centerfield, shortstop, 2B, with 10k I think you could get Lorenzo Cain who would be great to build a DD team around but it's up to your preferences man.

I've got a full diamond squad and can honestly say the most success I've had with a hitter is with Victor Martinez. I know he's not 10k but he's a great player to build around. He can also play catcher and leave first base open for you to get a power bat to put behind him for protection.

With 10000 stubs, you could probably do a feed mission to get somebody like Ichiro, Prince Fielder, Tony Gwynn, etc. The challenge would just be playing the innings after you beat their stronghold in conquest.

if you're on a budget, building your team through the innings and feeds missions is definately the way to go, you'll get the most bang for your buck

If you play conquest and beat a teams stronghold, a mission unlocks in the command and conquer that says play so many innings with players from that team. Once you play the required amount of innings (usually 700-1500) a new mission unlocks, telling you to feed players from that team to your created DD player. Before doing this, it's usually smart to do the 25 player missions and sometimes the 40 player mission depending on whether or not the team has a diamond. Just make sure you use the 25 cheapest guys on the team for that part. Also, don't feed any good golds or diamonds, only feed guys that aren't going to be in your lineup. Once the meter gets to 100%, you get the reward card. There's another thread with conquest advice and a list with all the reward players for each team

First you need to beat conquest mode to unlock each team's mission, then go into the Diamond Dynasty Screen > Collect Screen > Missions Screen hit R1 twice and it will show the missions we're talking about.

If you're doing the collections don't be dumb like me! once you use your cards for this mission you can't sell them. I locked Donaldson Bautista and Stroman into my collection to unlock a crappy Brandon Morrow so now I can't sell any of them and the Bautista was useless as I unlocked the Diamond version of him so I had to eat my 15k stubs literally by feeding him to my dynasty player (Which turns out was also dumb because if I ever want to do all the collections I'll need to get him again I think)

To answer the original question if you are looking for a player to just pick up for around 10k my vote goes to Carlos Gonzalez. I was going to pick up Giancarlo Stanton for 50k, but noticed CarGo is actually better against right handed pitchers and is closer to 10k.

I picked him up a few days ago for just under 10k and the dude rakes. Plus I have always had good success with him in the past...something about his stance that I like.

This! I ended up selling trout when I unlocked ichiro so I could play ichiro in center and keep cargo for 10x less than trout . Decent outfield arm as well.
