Re: I give up on playing the market.
I realize this is me just complaining but let me vent. I was sitting on 5 Xander boagarts for a while now. Spent around 3-4K on each. I had been sitting on him for a while now and I figured if he went diamond it wouldn't be until after the all star break and I figured I'd cash in last night on th bump in his price based on the updates thinking if anything he would get a bump of 1-2 this week if at all. Sold them all for around 9.5k still a good return on investment but I wake up this morning to see him bumped to 93 and now going for 22k+. I'm just sick to my stomach for pulling the trigger last night. I suck. Rant over.Comment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
So with whatever loop hole someone found and was deemed "cheating" it appears trading online will not be available on the show nation. Think this will bring some market stability and lower prices with the "day traders" gone ?Comment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
Market activity has definitely seemed to slow down a little bit. I honestly have no idea how this will affect things, it may make people less patient because they have less time around the game but I also don't think less activity necessarily means lower prices.Comment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
Between Cano, Andrew Miller, Longoria and some others, I'm down over 13,000 stubs. I pretty much suck and buying and selling for a profit. It seems any big buy I do starts going down immediately. I guess all I can do is hope those guys go back up.Comment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
In general, players are cheapest on Friday and Saturday, when the new packs come out and all the "investors" desperately try to sell all their players that either did or didn't get upgraded. Then on Thursdays prices are probably highest, as people try and "invest" in people who they think will go up the next day. I'm not a fan of investing at all though, flipping is easier and far lower riskComment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
Sometimes you just got to sell right away and not hold looking for more profit. Take the profit you can get lol. If I buy a Dee Gordon for 8000 and he's selling for 11500 now but he was selling for 12500 yesterday I'm not gonna wait, I'm gonna sell him right there at 11499Comment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
I didn't wait. Right when I bought Longo, his price kept dropping. I couldn't even keep up with it and within like 3 min, he was selling for less than I bought him for. Same thing happened with Miller. Cano didn't go diamond and his value plummeted. I'd prefer to at least break even so I have to hold onto these cards now.Comment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
I still have to do 17 games with an all Cleveland lineup so I'll probably jump off a cliff sometime during the 9thComment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
this was my mindset but I've recently changed, once I calculated how much you can get from a combination of quick sell and emptying your collection out. it's painful as **** but I've been doing it with someone here while watching baseball to make the time pass. I'm so much closer to finishing the entire AL now because of it, but I can 1000000% understand if this isn't someone's cup of tea. I figured one week of solid grinding and I'll be better off for the next few months

Re: I give up on playing the market.
I just like being a dick haha. But some of those innings are way too much. Its funny because most of the better teams have less innings needed as well. I really dont blame people for finding a work around, I could just never do it, it would bore me to death. They need to clean it up a bit, 1500 innings with the Phillies and stuff like that is just ridiculous.Comment

Re: I give up on playing the market.
1500 with the Phillies is worst, because at least the Indians have a fair few players you might want to use, I don't think the Phillies have a single player who I'd even consider using (I think I have had Herrera on my bench because he's a utility man with speed, but that's about it) 1400 with the Braves is a bit brutal as wellComment
