The games are only free if you stay subscribed to PlayStation Plus. So it's more like a glorifed rental. This game still suffers from online lag and it has even when moving to PS4. Search this site or just Google it if you don't believe me. If the game still has lag, what good is PlayStation Plus for online gaming? It's supposed to be better than free PS3 right?

People that don't think PC is free need to Google it for pete's sake. Call of Duty online multiplayer doesn't cost anything extra like a does for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Gold. Only some games like MMOs charge you monthly. Most multiplayer online gaming is free.

That would be due to the game's net code, not the subscription...I play online plenty and do not have the issues that those here suffer in BR or online play...I personally do not play online in this game, so cannot measure the lag, although I've seen it via forums and YouTube videos...Each game has it's own net code...MLB may be lacking, but I play plenty of other games online and have had no issues at all...I still play Battlefront quite a bit and have never had problems with the online play...

Don't take the inefficiencies of one game and parlay them to all...

Battlefield, Call of Duty, Resistance, Killzone, Rock Band, Buzz etc all ran great online for PS3 as they do on PS4 but PS3 is free. They didn't make Battlefront for PS3 but it would play exactly the same as PS4 free of charge. Also, Battle Royale mode on PlayStation 3 is free.

I rarely play this game Online, and tonight is yet another reason why...I came across a loser (SUPER_MONKEY_SD) who bunted the entire game and when I was beating him 7-2 in the 9th, he quit and it said the game was forfeited and his team won. Does this happen regularly to people? I'm disgusted.

I played that asshat a few days ago. All he did was bunt/early steal/fake bunt pre pitch/and throw dirt balls. Then after I was up 12-3 in the 4th he quit, then he sent me a lovely message that read...


"Lucky ***** do you where a dress 'well' you play."

In which my response was.


"You mad bro? And it's 'While' not 'well' start paying attention in your 4th grade English class."

Get off your soap box and give it a rest already. We get it, you dont think its worth it despite it being something youve never had or experienced, thats fine, but do you really need to derail every thread now complaining about sony and ps+?

I've played the game online in BR and while the lag isn't unbearable, I lost 2 games because of it and my internet speed is 70 Mbps.

I've played the game online in BR and while the lag isn't unbearable, I lost 2 games because of it and my internet speed is 70 Mbps.

Yup, could never be any other reason to have ps+, everyone knows ps+ is only for the show.

But, none of that makes any sense. Cheaters and lag are consequences of playing online, whether you pay for it or not. PS+ improves the online experience in other ways, that many feel are worth the added cost.

Lag is due to issues with the P2P connection between you and your opponent; we aren't paying Sony to ensure that both you and your opponent have decent internet connections.

At the end of the day, the state of online play is better on PS4 than it was on PS3. For many, the magnitude of the improvement is worth paying for. If it isn't worth it to you, no problem! Some people are willing to pay for Kraft Dinner (that's Macaroni & Cheese in the US, I believe) while others are willing to eat the no-name brand to save a few extra cents, even if it doesn't taste as good. To each his own!

Let me offer another example: Last night, my brother-in-law got angry (like, legitimately angry) when we decided to go for gelato. It's more expensive than ice cream! The difference in taste isn't worth the extra dollar! While we were out, he took a picture of the group with his thousand-dollar camera, instead of using the free camera that came with his phone. My brother-in-law is a jackass.

Everybody has their own priorities. It seems like you have a little agenda here, hoping that - I can only assume - if you yell "Sheeple!" enough times, everyone will abandon the PS4 and then... the PS3, your platform of choice, will become relevant again. What you don't realize, is that one of the biggest benefits of paying for online play is that it has separated us from jackasses like... my brother-in-law.

BTW - I don't understand why this is an issue for you in the first place. Playing outside is free, so why did you pay money for a video game system and software? Sending smoke signals is free, so why do you pay money for internet access? Counting on your fingers is free, so why do you own a computer? Friggin' sheeple.

But the player quit the match and also got the Win somehow despite the boxscore still showing me winning 7-2.

I don't play on-line, and I've read a lot about this sort of thing happening. My question is, why isn't the person forfeiting taking the loss? Is it just a weird glitch in the game?

ppl really complaining about $50/year for ps plus?? which also gives you like 3 free games a month if you want them! If you can't afford $50 a year stop playing video games and get a job!
