What is proper thing to do?
If you're opponent offers a friendly quit game? Let's say it's the 2nd inning and there is no score. No one on base. Your opponent sends a friendly quit. Do you accept? Or do you keep playing? Knowing he probably has to leave and it'll be an easy win.Tags: None -
Re: What is proper thing to do?
It depends. If they haven't been playing like an idiot, I'll accept. If they're throwing at batters, bunting all the time, constantly taking warm up swings, they can **** themselves and take the loss.
I don't think I've ever had someone accept a friendly quit from me.

Typically depends how they've played up to that point. If they're bunting and doing cheesy stuff I usually don't accept, but if they seem like they play the right way I always accept it.Comment

Re: What is proper thing to do?
I'm asking because I started a game last night. In the 2nd inning my wife calls down and tells me the dog were watching needs to go out. There is no score. No hits. Etc. So i offer up the friendly quit. He declines. So I take out the dumb dog. I come back and I'm losing 7-0. So I'm just wondering what everyone would do?Comment

If its in the first or second inning I'll accept it. After that I feel like I've put in enough time to warrant a victory.Comment

Re: What is proper thing to do?
In that case, I'd probably yield it. I don't feel like forcing a quit on a guy because of what might be a potential emergency situation. Then again, might depend on the situation. If it's the 8th, and it's close, and he's showing no ability to hit, I might demand we keep going. Putting in 30-45 minutes and calling it a draw? Nah.Comment

I would have definitely accepted in that case. Some people just want wins and don't care how they get them, others just want to play a fair game. To each his own.Comment

Re: What is proper thing to do?
I dont accept friendly quits. Im sorry but my rank matters amd its hard enough to get wins.
If you dont have time to play don't play.
I get things happen like emergencies but thats not my problem. If i have to leave for some reason i just quit.

Re: What is proper thing to do?
It seems most of you agree with me on this. I just really thought it would be the right thing to do. It's not hard to find another game. But I guess some people really need a win and will do anything to get one. And that's cool. I guess those things are really important to me. Oh well. It's over and done with now.Comment

Also, this is another reason to use a headset, if you can. If you can have friendly chat with the other person, and the person hears WHY you need to bail, he's probably more likely to accept. For me, that would definitely be the case.Comment

Re: What is proper thing to do?
I don't know how it works in this game, never gone online. However, I assume that it is similar to MLB 2K, where it auto-pitched after sitting for too long. It keeps the opponent from going away and making you quit to win.

And that is what happened. The computer took over and played a nice game of home run derby I guessComment

Re: What is proper thing to do?
I agree that accepting the friendly quit is the right thing to do. However, I can't help but to want to turn it down to get back wins I deserved. Like right now I'm watching a frozen screen as I was up 6-4 in the 8th on a player that is 10-0. No way I'll get the win I deserve.Comment
