    Pitching rotation

So the game 'randomly' starts one of my top 2 pitchers 95% of the time. My 3rd best, Jack Morris, has gotten 2 starts and my 4th and 5th, both of whom I need to have start to complete missions, have never been picked. This is in about 40 DD games so far. If I put 2 crappy pitchers in my rotation in place of my 2 stars, will the other get picked more?

I'm having this issue too, it seems that if there's a mission I need to complete that pitcher NEVER gets picked.

I had an issue of almost never getting Impact Veteran Phil Hughes starting once his challenge was unlocked. I dashboarded for over an hour trying to get Hughes to proc and instead got to suffer through a couple dozen rolls of Jeff Samardijza and Jerad Eickhoff

it really gets me how bad the SP pitching is with the random generator.

it couldn't be too hard to program into the game, once a SP has pitched a game, his fitness won't return until after 4 more games have been played.

it would totally add another layer to DD. Having to use and also getting to face other more hittable pitchers than catfish hunter.

Starting pitcher selection is 100% not random. Whatever formula they use to pick a starter is broken, has been for years. I pitch with the same pitcher everyday for a bunch of games until I have to physically remove him from my rotation because I am sick of pitching with him.

I have pitched with flashback J.A. Happ literally 95% of my DD games. I don't understand how he can possibly be picked that much randomly.

I'm with ya. I cannot even get 3 of my guys to ever pitch. One guy has pitched once. It's usually 2 guys that pitch. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Also, why did they remove seeing what pitcher the other guy is using pre-game? IRL, teams know who they're facing and adjust with righties and lefties. I think I may actually like the way it is now, I am just not sure. I was mainly curious about why they dropped this programming.

They dropped it this year because people were backing out of games as soon as they'd see that their opponent was using a left-handed pitcher, IIRC.

As far as the "random" starting pitcher issue goes, I think Tyson Ross is something like 9-1 for me, whereas no other starting pitcher I have in my rotation has more than 2 starts.

The thing that I seem to have happen a lot (in both Conquest and Play vs. CPU games) is I'll put some lefties in my lineup that are playing up, and a good 80% of the time the team I'm facing will magically start one of the 1 or 2 lefties that they have. I was playing Colorado the other day, and probably saw Tyler Anderson 4 or 5 times in a row. After the 3rd time, I said screw it and pinch-hit for one of my lefties in the 1st and ended up hitting 2 HRs with JD Martinez.

I'm very curious to find out if they "randomly" pick 1-5 or based on overall. Last year, I had a typical 1-5 rotation and it seemed like #4 or #5 was always getting picked. When I made my rotation random, it seemed to help to randomize who was getting picked. This year, it has been better, but mostly 2-3-4 being picked.
