    Re: Comedy fielding thread

    Wowsers...i got a new one.....

First Goldy fields a rocket bunt from the pitcher....takes a second...then decides to throw to second to start the dp....granted the delay in the decision makes the dp impossible...ok no big deal...at least he got the lead runner...

Then this....next batter hits a hard grounder to first...Goldy fields the ball literally right next to the bag...turns and throws...to Ervin Santana...who is half way in between the mound and first.....WUT? then Santana runs a few feet towards first and lollipops the throw to Goldy at first and barely gets the runner....this one chaps my bottom because the computer is hitting like crazy this game and i can't so I am willing to bet I lose this game.....just because....

Line drive single into right by someone with 30< speed, first baseman never goes to the bag, so he's safe.
Line drive single into right by someone with >70 speed, first baseman hustles to the bag, safe because speed
These are the only two outcomes.

I just played a game before where Napoli was on third and the ball was hit to breakout Dale Murphy at first base and Napoli took off for home , easy out you'd think with Napoli at 19 speed and Murphys cannon arm but nope hes srick in sand and wont charge the nall down and then when he gets it it's a little casual lollipop throw and Nap beats the throw comfortably.

This is comedy baserunning, and not fielding, but I had Oswalt on first, Rookie Lofton on second, and Breakout Gwynn to bat. Right off the bat I knew It was a triple, and just held L1, since it was a given. Well, as Lofton rounds third, and Gwynn rounds second, they stop. For no reason at all they stop. I'm still holding L1 as they stop, and I'm mad because it didn't count as a triple and that was the last triple I needed before mass tickets and stubs. at some point I'll upload these

I have had this happen to me a few times and has cost me some runs.

Anyone getting this sort of thing a lot lately, where your fielders deliberately take a long time and deliberately soft toss the ball so the guy has a chance to be safe? It used to happen all the time with catchers on passed balls (I say passed balls, I mean where they drop it two feet in front of them but then proceed to lollipop throw it on the third base side of second to make sure the guy can take second) but now I'm getting it regularly on regular fielding plays as well.

It's not even the casual lack of hustle from last year, it's deliberately taking just long enough to let them be safe.

Then just for fun, an inexplicable decision by Ian Kinsler to not throw the ball but instead run to the base and then soft toss it to make sure they stay out the double play.

The umpire "mistakes" are getting pretty irritating. I get that they thought it would be fun to have reviews (they were wrong) so felt the need to program in mistakes to make that worthwhile, but why did they feel the need to make mistakes on plays that you can't review? You can only review straight ground outs too first, but you constantly get missed calls at home and on double plays.

Just had this called safe on a routine double play, absolute nonsense.

                    Re: Comedy fielding thread

I had a DD vs. CPU game the other night where I won on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 11th and my runner advanced...

                    From second to third!

The catcher didn't react to the wild pitch and I was going to try for home. But once I hit third, the game ended and I got the walk-off animations.

Since I was focused on the catcher's (non) reaction I had to watch the replay to see what happened, but I got the run and never passed third base. Weirdest thing I have seen.

In a BR game. Currently 5-0.

2 outs in bottom first. He hits a weak grounder to Goldschmidt at first. Goldschmidt picks the ball up, I press circle for him to go to the bag, and he just runs over the bag and doesn't touch it. But his base runner is slow, so I just tell Goldschmidt to get back.

This dude just stands there for 3 seconds. Doesn't respond to any of my joystick movements.

                      Simply. Amazing.

Good thing I won. 9 win reward is Cespedes. Meh.

I need to get Bagwell. Just need to win 6 in a row.
(I'm going to go 8-0 and then lose 2 straight)

Of course I lose the 7th game on a two run homer with 2 outs while leading by 1 -____________-

Just had a game where I picked off to first and the runner froze. I run to tag him and Edgar Martinez, completely of his own volition dives THROUGH his legs, yet no apparent tag was made, and he safely gets to second easily. If I lost that game I would've not been a happy camper

Literally the same scenario that happened to me the other day, only it was the last inning and the runner was going home, but they made me dive at him with my third baseman for no reason and he took forever to get up.

I've lost a couple of games from his frozeness. It's a baffling bug that isn't getting fixed.

Its been a few years like that I think, soft liner 1 foot over a middle infielders head and they just arent allowed to react.
