    This years mission structure

Anyone else feel like this years programs are just incredibly badly designed and unsatisfying? I'm not (specifically) talking about all the buying of hats and other junk, but of the fact that a lot of the grinding and buying goes towards missions you cannot actually complete and have no idea when you will be able to?

Take the recent addition of the new Mark Reynalds program. You unlock his card pretty easily, but then you have a mission to hit 2 homers with him. What is the reward? Nothing, just that you've completed his program, which at some random later date will mean 5% towards a different program that isn't available yet, which even when it is released probably won't be completable yet as they'll hold back some of the smaller programs needed to complete it. All so they can further delay the release of the immortals, the biggest time and money waster of them all.

It's an incredibly ungratifying system, entirely designed around the immortal cards that they don't want to release for months. It just leaves me wondering why am I bothering to dv any of these things now, when I can't actually complete them? For all I know they are going to change the requirements for the later parts of the immortal missions so I can't even do them, rendering all the time and stubs spent completing the first parts pointless.

I feel like previous years were much better thought out. I'd much rather they just released the Immortals one at a time so we actually complete them, rather than this massive pointless tease.

Agreed. The fact that you need a pen and paper or a spreadsheet to keep track pretty much says it all. While I get the fact that it should be difficult to unlock an immortal I also don’t see the point in finally unlocking one a week or two before I shelve the game as the season ends.

I actually take pictures of what you need on my phone and then I created an MLB the Show album and everything I need is right there. It's worked best for me this way

Exactly. Last year, I had a mission and I knew what it was for and I knew everything I needed to do to complete that program. This year, I have a bunch of missions that at the moment, don't actually achieve anything, then a bunch that achieve a percentage towards something that might unlock another card with a mission to get another percentage, that if completed achieves a percentage towards something else, that ultimately I cannot actually complete yet anyway. It's just far too convoluted and ultimately pointless if we can't get the immortals at the end of it.

Yup, finishing all those new position player missions, to get absolutely nothing upon completion is just another in a long list of incredibly frustrating decisions in this game.

And just a tidbit about the complete bull**** line they fed us about how they wanted souvenirs to be a bridge for us to finish programs, I have the stats for every player arc done, the only thing stopping me from finishing? Hats and jerseys for like half of them.

But I seriously dont know why Ive even working towards half this stuff, by the time they actually release the Immortals, Im probably going to have already completely quit playing this game. I already tried to quit and play franchise but that mode hasnt been touched in years except for the terribly implemented player morale system that you cant shut off.

Yeah it’s not good at all. In theory I like all the smaller missions cause t means you can constantly be unlocking stuff. But in practice it’s garbage. And don’t get me started on announcing that Frank Thomas is gonna be in the game then holding him back. **** you. Holding these players back doesn’t make me want to play the game longer it just pisses me off. And who cares if dudes get the immortals right away. Let them. The amount of money it takes to get them almost guarantees you wouldn’t see a ton of all Immortal teams. Or maybe limit the number of immortals on a team at one time if you’re worried about it.

Id rather get nothing than finish a part of a program and get 10 tickets though. 10 tickets is literally nothing, the ticket counter has once again been a complete joke. Im sure theyll release a 99 overall guy for 10000 tickets again at some point in July just to put a massive dent in all the tickets weve built up

Yup, they don't seem to mind one immortal being available at release, Vlad, the one who essentially can be bought with cash. But ones that people can earn by playing? Nah, we can't have that from the start, they would ruin the game apparently

Also wtf is with the missions to finish the career arcs. You’ve got guys like Hanley whose can be finished relatively easy in a game. Then you’ve got Lee Smith who will take 20-40 games. Wtf is that???

That one I kind of get. A lot of these single game stats from from actual games they had. for a relief pitcher that would be a lot of "Pitch One Inning and get 2 Strikeouts and a save".

Right I understand that. But 76 innings??? I don’t think that even remotely compares haha. I just don’t get why they’re so inconsistent.

Yay, more missions that don't contribute to anything yet and another "buy a ton of equipment to get a card" program.

I look forward to next weeks collection of either yet more missions that don't yet count towards anything, or player arcs that we can't complete yet.

                          Re: This years mission structure

Pretty irritated with this whole situation. I want missions that can be completed organically by grinding. The last thing I want to do is waste time on some made up market buying crap that has nothing to do with anything.....

I have completed all most all the missions outside of team epics right up until they need hats and jerseys. The player trade ins alone are pretty much not doable for me. I have no idea how long it would take me to save up enough cards for 135000 points, but, I would be willing to bet I would finish one immortal by next year this time.

I must be doing something wrong....

LOL! I should just put this game away for the year....oh wait...it is the only game in town and I love baseball!

Future stars Victor Robles which is a diamond card , looks like a good card to be fair, you're paying 2000 tops unless you already got the stuff needed to exchange.

Breakout Homer Bailey, Jhonny Perralta when he was with Cleveland (I'm happy with this one too) and gold Tony Sipp (not sure if that's a breakout card , IV or PS card).
