I agree. I think that there is a way to blend the two together (grind and XP) to form a better DD. I am just not into the missions at all, so it feels like there is nothing to do.
Besides Conquest, what is there to achieve with my DD team as an offline player?

Its funny, they add the multiple lineups and the ability to track missions in game like people have been asking for, then they make both those additions pointless by getting rid of all reason to have those features.Comment

I considered it, but it's at most, 15 innings. So that's pretty much just switching out one player in my team, an entirely different lineup seemed unnecessary. (I change my team a bit at the start of every day anyway due to inside edge)Comment

I just fill up the roster with those players and play one steal fans game in conquest to get it done.Comment

Re: Besides Conquest, what is there to achieve with my DD team as an offline player?
The removal of all programs and missions was not what we wanted. We wanted the painfully long grinds gone, but that was a subset of all missions. There were plenty of perfectly reasonable missions to do. We wanted QOL improvements like the mission tracker and multiple lineups to make working through those missions smoother. And one of the biggest problems was Play vs. CPU - a game mode that provides no structure and is therefore very mindless but was used by so many to do missions in because it was the path of least resistance.
It would've been much better to add an alternative to Play vs. CPU with some structure to it. And the simplest ideas for an alternative are sitting right there - MLB 19 has a season mode (Franchise minus the GM functions), a postseason mode and March to October - let us play those with our DD team! We choose to replace one of the 30 MLB teams in the schedule, play through a season/M2O/postseason and try to win the World Series. Reward Team Affinity for the team we replaced based on season length and difficulty. I'd play the hell out of that. Make Play vs. CPU ineligible for missions just like Extra Innings to eliminate that as the path of least resistance.Comment

A 9 inning conquest would kick *** tbh, with stealing fans being 3 innings but fortress taking being 9. Gives a reason to play 9 innings, gives easily made offline content. (with more missions as well, like regular conquest needs this year)Comment
